•••Seanne's POV

'The number you dialed is unattended. Please try your call later'

I scratched my head in frustration as I ended my call to Jayden. To think that I have 17 missed calls from him, I expected that he would answer right away. I woke up at 11:30PM to closed library. I don't think he's asleep yet. Maybe he's playing video games again. I will tell Uncle Larry about it!

If he and Julia only had answered me, I shouldn't have called Kookie Alistair...

Speaking of Kookie. It's already 12:48. Where is he?

I paced to and fro in front of the library door. My stomach is grumbling because of hunger.

I scrolled for Dad's contact number. Should I call him?

But he would surely scold me. After I walked out like that, I'm sure he would mention about my rudeness.

Then, I should just wait for Kookie to come---

BZZZZZZ---

I almost lost grip of my phone in shock when it vibrated.

🍪👹 calling...

I sighed as I pick up, "Where are you?"

"I'm here inside the campus," he's panting. "Where the fck is the library?!"

Putting my right palm on my face, I almost cursed at him. "Seriously?"

"Just tell me!"

"You know what, you should call the security to let me out."

"I can't! If they see me, they'll ask how I got in. They can't know I sneaked in," he sounded like he's running.

"Tss. Where exactly are you?"

"I don't know---some sort of laboratory---argh!" He sounded like he was hurt.

"Hey, what happened?"

"Nothing... Don't we have some sort of university map?"

"We have! Go to the school website," I said. If something happened or if someone see him, we're both dead. "There's navigation there..."

"Alright, I saw it... There it is... I saw it, wait for me."

"Of course, who else should I wait for?" I said and slumped down on the floor. "Bye."

I can see the moon shining outside. What a great night to be stuck here in the library.

Three knocks on the glass door signalled Kookie's arrival.

"At last," I said and called him. "Now how am I gonna get out?"

"Don't worry, I know some trick," he smirked and took out something from his wallet. A hairpin?

"You know how to unlock using that?" I said in astonishment.

"Of course. It's an essential life hack," he is smiling proudly. After a few minutes, he successfully unlocked the padlock. I felt a gush of relief as he opened the door. "Why were you locked up inside?"

"Let's just say I was hiding from someone," I muttered and followed him.

"Who?"

I frowned as I watch him walk. He seemed to be limping. "Hey, what happened to your foot?"

"Ah, this? I accidentally twisted it during practice. But it's bearable," he smiled.

"Okay," I turned to the corner going to the dorm's direction. He stopped.
