"Blue dress suits you, Seanne, why do you always have to wear jeans?"
I sighed as I recall Julia's comment. She particularly chose a blue square necked, sleeveless ruched dress for me. I liked the length because it's below the knees, but I didn't like the fact that I had to wear three-inch heels for this.
I checked my reflection on the glass wall, I'm outside the party venue. I pinned my hair behind my ears and drew a deep breath as two cars stopped by the entrance and several people went out. I knew at once that they're guests in the party, because they're wearing formal clothes. I wonder if Kookie is here...
"Psh, why do I have to worry about him," I muttered to myself and watched the entrance. Rion said he's already here...
Someone came out, and I heard my name called.
I looked and saw Rion waving at me. He doesn't have the usual DSLR hanging on his neck, instead he looked so dashing like those models I see in Julia's magazine collection. I waved back at him.
"Did you wait for long? I'm sorry, I had to do something back inside," he said and offered his right arm.
"Uhm, Rion... there's music inside right?"
He frowned, but then answered kindly, "Yes, mostly Yumi's songs. Why?"
Oh shoot.
I took a deep breath and held Rion's arm. If I want to overcome this, I must try and expose myself to situations like this...
"Let's go," he said and we walked in.
Subtle jazz music filled the wide reception hall. There are tables here and there, then on one are is a long table full of food—cakes in every shapes and flavors, colorful drinks, fancy dishes that look like decorations... I swallowed as I smell the sweet aroma of the pastries when we passed by the table.
But I guess even the food can't distract me from having the palpitations. A few minutes listening to music and now my heart is beating wildly. I can feel my breathe getting heavier, as if something is blocking my chest. There's funny ringing in my ears too. I closed my eyes and shook my head.
"Seanne, are you alright?" I heard Rion asked.
I opened my eyes and saw he is looking at me with worry, "Y-Yes."
"You're pale..." he muttered.
I shook my head again to keep my eyes in focus.
Rion held me on both shoulders, "Seanne, are you really alright?"
I drew a deep breath. The ringing in my ears is getting louder. I feel dizzy too.
Seanne... everything is alright... it's okay... you're fine...
