Seanne's POV
"You could have told me the professor was calling me instead of moving your lips like some duckling who got indigestion!"
"Like some what?!" I stopped walking and faced Kookie Alistair who has been blabbing about what happened in the first period class. It's lunch break, and the moment I got out of Chef Camille's class, I received a text from him telling me to accompany him to a lunch at a fancy restaurant near the school. Only to piss me off about what had happened in Prof. Gale's class which is very much his fault!
"I was saying you should have told me instead of acting like a duckling!"
I looked at him in complete frustration, "I was trying to tell you. But you just acted like some dumb—argh! I don't want to explain anymore."
Kookie Alistair walked past me, even bumping me on the right shoulder. "I can't believe we're mistaken to have..." he run his hair in frustration.
"That's your fault," I muttered, "you should have not stared at me."
He glared at me, "Excuse me? Who stared? It's you who did not tell me—"
"Alright! It's my fault! Happy?" I shouted before he can call me a duckling again. It's my turn to walk past him and bumped onto him like what he did to me. I entered the restaurant.
"I reserved a VIP room," I heard Kookie said.
I looked at him, "VIP room?"
He gave me a cold glare, "For eating. Your dirty mind really. Tsk." He followed the waiter.
I was left with my mouth hanging open. Did he just call me dirty minded?!
The waiter gave me a grin before going away.
"ARGH! That guy really!" I said loudly and several customers looked at me. I smiled apologetically at them then followed Kookie Monster.
----
I NEVER EXPECTED THAT that incident would be the start of the endless bickering between me and Kookie Alistair. Not a day passed when he doesn't have anything to complain about. I am actually starting to lose my patience.
It's not yet a month, but I felt like it was already a year since I started this effing assistant thing. I wanted to quit because I can feel stress creeping up my head every time, but I know that the moment I resign, I have to prepare the money.
"You should tell your Dad," Julia suggested when I finally told it to her. She was always asking me why I can't quit, so I gave in.
It's a fine Sunday morning, and I'm enjoying the weekend here in her house while eating chips. Mngr. Ysidro told me I can take this day off because of my overtime last night.
"You know I don't have money," I muttered.
Julia sighed. "How about you just put up with him until the contract ends?"
I lay down on the sofa. "I don't know." I might lose my head before that ends.
"Hey, someone's calling you," Julia said and reached for my phone. Her eyes widened, "It's Kookie!"
"Don't answer it," I said. "I am purposely ignoring his call since this morning. Yesterday, I was at the company until 10 in the evening, just waiting for Kookie Monster to finish his rehearsal."
Julia laughed, "Where did you stay?"
I blew a deep breath, "I stayed in one of the cold, empty practice rooms since it is the only quiet place. I even fell asleep on the cold floor... I don't know if he just wanted to annoy me by making me stay and completely ignoring me the whole time."
