January 1st, 2020 Darry's p/v "Rachel, stop walking so fast you're going to slip." "I rather slip in the rain than see your face." I unlock the car door. Rachel sits in the back seat and slams the door. I open it. "Can you close it? You're letting the rain in." "Why don't you believe me? I already explained everything in detail to you. Mary and I ran into each other in Mr. Newman's office, or what used to be his office. I'm getting off track, the point is that we recognized each other's presence with a half smile and then you walked in. Everything happened so fast!" "I don't believe you, Darry. I don't want to start the new year with lies." "And I don't want to start the new year with a stupid fight. There is nothing more to my story that I am keeping away from you, nor any lies." "Ok, let's suppose you ran into her. If I find out you were lying I am so shunning you." "Just how you did the summer of last year?" Rachel smiles. "I was pretty harsh, wasn't I."
These past few months, or I guess last year, was the best period of time of my life. I won Rachel's trust and friendship. I ruined ours for ignoring her for the last 4 years, but then I became clingy and just made it worse. And now that Rachel and I have both recognized our faults, I am certain that this year will be our year. No more fights, no more lies, no more distance. That is, if she accepts Mary, and if she doesn't find out about my plan.
I did start the new year with a lie. But what was I supposed to do? Start the new year with a huge fight? I rather let Mary and Rachel's drama fade away. And I'm going to make sure that they become friends, or acquaintances at least. I need them to get along before Rachel finds out on her own about us. What could go wrong?
And about my plan, it's all set in stone. Sage and I are just waiting to strike. Hopefully this month because that's when Jacob moves here. It's all coming together.
Jacob Floyd Valentine is Sage's uncle. The reason why he was never seen or mentioned was because he lived in France for all of his life. Even Sage recently found out she had an uncle. And I don't blame her, she has 6 uncles and 3 aunts on her mother's side. The only uncles Rachel and I have are on Alexis's side of the family, and they're both in prison. Where? Absolutely no clue.
Jacob's mom thought it would be a good idea to study abroad. He already knows English so there won't be any language barrier. Once Jacob arrives, and once we find the right moment, he will introduce himself to Rachel. He's going to first become her friend, then her best friend, then her boyfriend. I don't mind them staying together after she forgets about Tyler. Jacob is a good kid, I've spoken to him many times.
I'm doing this for Rachels sake. She deserves a healthy relationship. Tyler has hurt her way too much. She needs someone better than that guy. I've been hurt a lot and I don't want to see Rachel go through the same pain. I thought Tyler was a good kid, heck we were literally hanging every single day at some point. But that all changed when Rachel started crying over him. No one hurts my little sister, no one.
Rachel's p/v I should not be starting off the new year by looking at what Mary posts. It ruins my mental health and my self esteem, but I just can't help myself. A while ago I made a fan page for Britney Spears but it obviously never got popular. I'm using it to look through Mary's stuff since she has me blocked.
