Rachel's p/v
I can't wait to see Tyler. I seriously cannot wait to see him. Last night we talked on the phone. It did both of us very good. I was feeling scared, and he just couldn't sleep. I could've swore I heard my dad's voice. Though he's miles away, his presence is still very strong. Tyler helped me calm down, and somehow I helped him go to sleep. He asked if I could sing to him, so I did. I sang California my Lana. We ended up falling asleep on call together, but I hung up at around 2 am. I don't snore, but I'm not tryna take any chances.

Mary is applying red lipstick on her lips. The red really goes well with her entire fit. She's wearing a white crop top with a collar and buttons, vintage dark blue high waisted baggy jeans, yellow vans with a black/white checkered pattern on the side and a red swiggle, and a dark blue hobo style bag. She looks so classy with her tiny golden mirror and lipstick.

My outfit is cute too, but hers is much better. I still look hot though. I'm wearing a white sleeveless top, grey jeans, and my black high top converse. I also have my adorable Kanken bag. I'm a basic girl, what can I say.
"Greetings." Tyler says as he sits down. Mary and I quickly turn to him.
"Greetings and salutations. How did you sleep?" Mary asks him.
Tyler smiles at me. "Like a baby."
"I'm sorry, am I missing something?"
"You wouldn't get it. So I'm like a siren, right?"
"You're the better version of a siren. I want you to sing me to sleep every single night."
"Then I better be getting paid."
"I'll give you guys space because clearly I'm not welcomed in this conversation." Mary says as she pulls out her phone. Yeah bitch, you go on that phone.
"It's not like that, Mary. Why don't we talk about something else? How did you sleep, Mary?"
"Pretty good. I was listening to Mazzy Star before bed."
"I love Mazzy Star. What's your favorite song by them?"
"I'm gonna have to go with Five String Serenade. It's the song I've been listening to nonstop."
"Ugh, I love that song. My favorite is Blue Light."
"That song is beautiful."
"Do you listen to Mazzy Star, Rachel?" Tyler asks me.
"I do not."
"What? You don't listen to Mazzy Star? What kind of sicko are you." Mary shakes her head.
"Well she's not like Britney Spears level. I've never heard of her."
"First of all, Mazzy Star is a band. Second of all, you've been living under a rock. Their songs are the best."
"The lead singer is Hope Sandoval. She's got your last name, Rachel."
"Cool. I must be so lucky then."
"You don't deserve to have her last name. Gosh, I love her so much."
"Yeah, I don't wanna have my last name either. Maybe you can introduce me to some of their songs, Tyler?"
"I'd love that. You're going to absolutely adore their songs."
"And if you don't I'm going to flip over a table."
"Can it be your table? The Offspring gave me my table." Tyler says.
"Let me guess, Come Out and Play was playing during the exchange."
"How did you know? You're a literal stalker."
"I can read your mind. In fact, I know what you're thinking about at this moment."
"Oh really, so what am I thinking?"
Mary gets closer to Tyler. "You're thinking about me."

I get up from my seat and pretend to throw something away. No way am I going to hear Tyler's response. I should just tell him I like him. God, I want to tell him so bad. But that won't be happening any time soon. Tyler is clearly not into me. If he was, he would have told me.

I sit back in my seat. Tyler and Mary aren't speaking to each other. Strange.
"So, Rachel, how about that Mazzy Star binge?"
"At lunch?
"Oh, I can't do lunch. Debate club is signing people up for the debate this Sunday. Can you do brunch?"
"I can't do brunch. Um, Ricardo and I are hanging out."
"Oh, ok. Maybe another day then?"
"Yeah, another day."
"I wanna listen to Mazzy Star with you, Tyler. Brunch date it is?"
"Don't you have like a geek convention you need to attend?" I say.
"None I can recall, but if I find one you'll be the first to know so you can go."
"Ah, but I'm not a geek. You on the other hand would make a great addition to the convention."
"I don't know where you got the idea that I'm a geek, but I take no offense to it. Geeks are hot, unlike some unfortunate souls."
"Hey, we're all friends here! There's no need to bicker."
"You're right, Tyler. It's not Rachel's fault that she dresses like every white girl at this school. I'll admit it, I'm a geek like my friends. Our style is very unique though."
"If unique style is being self-absorbed and egocentric, then they're not unique at all. Just a bunch of Mary's in the shadows."
"You sorta can't talk about who's unique or not because you're just like every white girl at this school. Popular with great looks, but no brain."
"Can you guys quit arguing? Both of are you are unique and smart."
"So is that a yes to my brunch offer?"
Tyler looks down at his desk. "Yeah, I'll hang out with you."
I turn back around and go on my phone. Can the teacher start the lesson already? Today is going to be one long day.
