Rachel's p/v
Friday's, a man's best friend. After my declaration of change last night, I have a new approach to life. No more crying over pathetic people like Quinn and Mads. How do I say this without sounding cheesy? I just have everything going for me right now. Darry? I don't know him. Mary? Like Mary had a little lamb? All I know is the yummy blueberry pancake I made for myself. Can't forget the hot chocolate!

You know, maybe I should've checked out the weather. Declan is my weather man, why should I do the research myself? On top of the gloomy weather, it's freezing in this math class! My blue denim jacket and mom jeans ain't keeping me warm. At least I'm not wearing a dress like Mary. And there I go thinking about her.

"Good morning," Tyler kisses me on the cheek, "how did you sleep after last night's swim?"
I shhh Tyler and motion with my head to Mary. He giggles and nods.
"Slept pretty well. Wanna hear something I promised myself?"
"Ooh, I like promises."
"I promised myself to move on from every single drama situation I'm in and just live my life. Who needs negativity when I have all I need! You, Declan, Jasmine, the show choir. It's all I can ask for."
"I love your new mentality. I can use some tricks."
"Let's become hippies! Everyone needs some sunshine in their life."
"Yeah, they need you."
I sarcastically roll my eyes. "Oh, shut the fuck-"
"Rachel, you're wanted in the principal's office."
I take the slip from the teacher. "What did I do this time?"
"They can't force you to go, can they?"
"It says immediately so I'll post the notes for today's class on Google Classroom. If you did nothing wrong then there shouldn't be any reason to be scared."
"So why am I being called in? Nah, that's crazy. I did nothing this time!"
"Just go in and see what he wants. I'm only a phone call away." Tyler rubs my back.
"Unless they confiscate it. What if I'm being sent to a camp? They opened up that camp for troubled kids in California!"
"You're going to be fine, Rachel. Don't keep the principal waiting."
"You can't get me out of this? Maybe a pop quiz I can't miss?"
"Unfortunately I cannot. You'll see that this has nothing to do with your behavior. Like I said, if you did nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about."
"Fine," I turn to Tyler, "wish me luck."
"You got this, love."
I grab my stuff and walk out the door. Ohhhh if Mary finally stopped bluffing and reported me to the office we're going to have problems.

The door to the principal's office is already open. Mads and Quinn are sitting in chairs with their mom next to them. Did I get hit by a football on the way here and died and went to hell?
"Rachel! Come in!"
I step inside. Mads glares at me. Quinn keeps her glance on the ground. Their mom won't even look at me.
"I was summoned? What's going on?"
"After discussing the issue your brother and his friend, MaryJane Ackerman, brought to my attention, I concluded that the Delight sisters are in the wrong. Me and Mrs. Delight had an insightful conversation regarding what to do next. That is why I called you in. I believe Mads and Quinn have something to say to you."
"Does your ugly tie give you mind reading powers?"
"Maddison, enough." Their mom says in a stern voice. Quinn stands up and looks at me. "I'm sorry for sending Mads to fight you. I'm sorry for letting her make that post about you. It was very rude, and I would like to just move on from the situation."
"Excellent. Now Mads, you go."
"I have nothing to say to her. You do realize she humiliated Quinn in front of their show choir classmates? Everyone hates my sister for Rachel's pettiness."
"For the 100th time, I didn't do anything! They made a decision on their own. Who wants to be friends with a boyfriend stealer?"
"It goes a lot more than that, Rachel. You're angry because I made one simple mistake. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree now does it."
"Quinn," Mrs. Delight stands up, "that's enough. It's obvious that you girls have not learned your lesson. Since you guys can't even give a proper apology, maybe a punishment will straighten you guys out. You two are grounded for a month. No hang outs after school, no leaving the house. Did I make myself clear?"
"But mom I already-"
"Did I make myself clear?"
Mads rolls her eyes. "Whatever."
"Quinn, did you hear me?"
She sighs. "Loud and clear."
"Rachel," Mrs. Delight looks at me, "I'm sorry about the amount of damage these girls did to you. Your brother was in his full right to defend you. I'm quite embarrassed. I see you and Darry like my own children. If there is anything I can do for you guys please don't hesitate to ask."
"Thank you, Mrs. Delight, but I think it's better that we cut ties. It's nothing personal against you, I just don't want to associate myself with them."
"I understand. The offer is still on the table."
"Well, I think that pretty much wraps up everything. You are free to go, Rachel."
I cross my arms and walk out the door. So no suspension. Just a punishment that Mads will obviously not respect. Quinn on the other hand, I know she'll be obedient. But the problem isn't with her, it's with Mads. This doesn't make me feel any better.
