Rachel's p/v
Tyler and I both reach for the door.
"You can go first." He says with a smile.
"No, you can go. I insist."
"You won so you can go first."
"Still embarrassed?"
"I was literally whispering. How did that not keep me up?"
"At least you made it to 3 am. I'll let you do your walk of shame though." I smile and enter the class. Priceless. Mary is already in class. She for sure got her snoozes in.
"Tyler, why do you look so tired? Let me guess, you went to sleep at 1 again."
"Nope, 3"
"You could've stayed up longer but you're a weak link." I tease. Tyler laughs.
"I can't even get mad at you because I went to bed at 2. I was cleaning out my closet."
"Good. Your hangers had no air to breathe."
"I did a shoes clean out this summer. Middle school shoes go hard." I say.
"No offense, Rachel, but you probably only had like one pair to get rid of."
"You're wrong, I had two pairs to get rid of!"
Tyler laughs. "You aren't going to get rid of the ones you're wearing?"
I pinch his cheek. "You love testing me, don't you?"
"Ding ding ding!"
"I absolutely love your turtleneck, Tyler. Where did you get it?" Mary asks. Jealous much.
"I got it at Ana's antique store. The lady there loved that I was dressed like a 70s guy so she gave me a discount."
"Lucky! I got my skirt for $50 at a vintage store. It was so worth it."
Mary is wearing a vintage brown wrap mini skirt with a dark brown button closure, muted yellow lace sleeveless top with floral detailing on the neck, white socks, and red brown docs. She also has on a dark brown flat cap. Now she's dressed for the 70s!"I love your outfit, Mary! Where did you get your top?" I ask.
"It was my grandma's from the 70s. I'd tell you the brand but the stupid label is faded."
"It would probably sell for almost 80 bucks on Depop huh? Everything is so expensive these days. My fucking shirt cost me $20, and I got it at Q's."
"$20 isn't a lot of money for a shirt at a fast fashion store like Q's. I do love their dresses though."
"I also love their dresses from there! I don't own any, but I'd love to get one."
"I recommend you their daisy dresses! The bead detail is to die for."
"I'll definitely buy one some day."
"They retail for $30. I think it's worth your money."
"You two know so much about fashion." Tyler says.
"I'm surprised you know about fashion, Rachel. You dress a little basic."
I blush. "I like to watch a lot of 90s and 2000s fashion runway videos."
"I'm more of a 60s and 70s girl, but I love 90s fashion too."
"My outfit is 90s inspired. I tried my best."I'm wearing a pink tank top, blue mom jeans, white filas, and my small sunglasses. I was aiming for that iconic Monica Geller look.
"It's definitely 90s. More of a modern twist, but still 90s."
"Do you have any tips then?"
"Try getting pieces from the 90s. That'll make your outfits more appealing."
I nod. "Got it."
To be honest, I don't wanna be friends with Mary if she keeps bringing me down. It's like she has to say something negative. Plus, $20 is not a cheap price. Bowie and Rosemary told me that Mary is the most chillest girl you'll ever meet, but I don't see it. Mary is so put together and sophisticated. I really don't see it.Tyler, Mary, Rosemary, Piper, Erica, Sage, and I are hanging out. I have to put up with Mary, but I'm just glad that Tyler and I are on good terms.
"The school's breakfast slaps. How come the lunch is garbage?" Rosemary says in between waffle bites.
"Good question. We need to help fund better food." I say.
"I have to pay for breakfast and lunch. No way am I giving them any more money."
"Mary is right, having to pay for food is dumb." Piper says.
"What a bunch of weak links. I get my food for free."
"Flexing on us huh Rachel?" Sage laughs.
"Precisely."
"Hey guys." Bowie says. Kid came out of nowhere.
"Can we help you sir?"
"I think I'm good, but thank you, Mary. I just came to say hello, and do this." Bowie kisses Erica's cheek. He then quickly walks away.
"Wait, are you two dating?" I ask. Erica smiles.
"Awww, you guys are so cute!"
"Thank you, Mary. Yeah, we're dating. My cat loved the news."
"He gave the stamp of approval."
"Mary, you always know what to say. He did! I don't know what that means, but he did!"
Mary laughs. "I love seeing you so happy. Share some tips on how to get a boyfriend."
"Ugh yeah, I'm lacking over here."
"What happened to Eric?" Piper asks.
Rosemary crosses her arms. "He fucking had a girl the entire time. Men at this school are awful."
"What do you have to say to that, Tyler?" I ask. He's smiling at me, but he's not moving.
"Dude's lost in space." Mary says.
Erica waves her hand in his face. No response.
"He's in love with you, Rachel." Erica nudges my arm.
Tyler snaps out of it. We all laugh, except for Mary. She's half smiling.
"Holy shit sorry, I was deep in my thoughts."
"About Rachel." Piper quickly coughs.
"I was thinking about the rally. I just happened to be looking at Rachel."
"Yeah, and you were gushing over the rally." Rosemary laughs.
"Yeah, obviously." Tyler winks at me. I told him not to flirt with me, but that's got to be a sign that he wants me. I want him so bad.
