In the next week we had devised a plan. I had to take great strides to make sure I didn't get caught, as well as kept my ears open for any news of what the king was up to. Victor had assembled a force to fight against him. It was a small army but we needed something more. One night while the king was too immersed in his fantasies with Aurelia; I snuck into my old bedroom and grabbed Elaina's D.D.D. Luckily, she didn't have it on her when she was taken. Her D.D.D was connected to the network at in the Celestial Realm so she could talk to Simeon and her family. With this in mind I sent a message to the last person she texted, one of her middle brothers, Raoul. I connected him with Solomon. I knew it would be too risky to keep in contact with them both around King Zebediah, so they would only be able to keep me updated on the time and place we needed to act out this plan.

That day couldn't come soon enough with the king's marriage to Aurelia coming up. I had also just recently found out his true intentions for my beloved and my daughters and I could not stand by to watch. He always hated the other realms and their inhabitants. Elaina being and angel and my children being half-breeds, he planned to kill them. That night I stole Wendy away and we ran as fast as we could to the dungeon. I had to make sure I could protective my family. I couldn't wait anymore knowing they were in this deep of danger. I burst into the room and frantically unlocked the cell doors much to the others' surprise. "Barbatos! What are you doing!?" Lucifer cracked. "This is not part of the plan." He added. "He's going to kill them!" I cried pulling Elaina out with me. "I have to get them out of here now!" Diavolo didn't miss a beat. He ran to help me gather the girls and tried to open the secret passage but there was a commotion outside of the doors. No turning back now. I hoped Solomon and Raoul had their shit together. Things were about to go down.

King Zebediah's guards burst down the door and he strode in. "When did it wear off? The spell?" He asked with an annoyed tone. "A long time ago. You won't stop us. You won't hurt my family." Barbatos replied as he pushed Elaina and Wendy behind him. "They have no place in the world. Your children are abominations and should never exist!" The king spat. "Tell me where the other child is hiding!" He demanded. "Never!" Elaina yelled. Zebediah looked straight at Elaina with a wicked smirk on his face. "You're quite the feisty one aren't you?" He laughed. "Let me see how tough you really are." I don't know how it happened but within a blink of an eye Zebediah had Elaina in his grasp and he returned to his position in front of us. Elaina cried out as he held her by the most sensitive part of her wings. "Listen here you little bitch. I have no patience today. Actually, I have no patience most days. You will tell me where that baby is or I'll tear Devildom apart to find her myself." He sneered. "Why do you want the children so badly and all of the sudden." Beelzebub spoke up. "As I've said they are abominations and as such, I cannot have them wandering around Devildom and so close to my wedding." The king explained. "I will...never...tell you where my baby...is." Elaina strained. "Behold! The beloved Celestial princess, martyr of her family, and the first to fall." The king announced as he snapped Elaina's wings right up with middle. She let out a stifled cry as she collapsed onto the cold floor.

Everything was completely drowned out. I could only stare at my beautiful angel on the ground in front of me, bleeding. My daughter's cries were muffled in my ears as well as the brothers and Diavolo yelling. I could only hear noise, no words. It felt like I was underwater, sinking into the black. My eyes filled with tears and my breathing was heavy. I needed to get her out. I needed to be alone with her in my arms. I needed her to be alive. I moved faster than I could have ever imagined and I made my move. I collected my dying wife and got out of there. I abandoned everything else, everyone else. I found myself in an open field scorched by more of the king's destruction. "Elaina, Elaina my love." I whispered as I held her limp body to my chest. "Please, please wake up." I cried. "Please...." I just sat there holding her, sobbing. There was nothing I could do. I had to let the cards fall where they may. I had no supplies, no potions, no spells I could cast out here. I had to just let fate decide. I could pick an alternate timeline, a time line where none of this would happen, but I knew that I couldn't abandon this world and have it lead to ruin. The king had to be stopped either way, even if I had to do it without her. I would keep the rest of my family safe.

"BARBATOS!!" I heard a call and slowly turned to see Diavolo and the brothers. "Where is the king?" I asked. He wouldn't be too far behind. "We saved ourselves a few minutes." Lucifer confirmed. "Where is Wendy!?" I looked around for my daughter but she wasn't with them. "She's safe! Trust me, my father will not lay a finger on her or Hazel." Diavolo added. "...is she..." Diavolo gestured to Elaina. "S-she's alive... For now..." I sniffled. "Give her to us." A familiar voice called out. "S-S-Solomon..." I stuttered as I saw my friend come over the hill with his most trusted apprentice and life partner. "I'm here. Give her to us Barbatos. Caroleen can transport her somewhere where she will be safe and cared for, just like she did with your girls." The fact that Solomon and Caroleen were both there gave me hope, but I didn't want to let my wife go. "Barbatos, we don't have time. We have to get her out of her now or we will miss our chance again. She won't survive without help and we can't provide it here." Caroleen was right, but still.... "Do you trust me?" Caroleen breathed with her bright, brown, innocent eyes. Caroleen was one of the very few people I DID trust. I nodded my head and let her work her magic. Elaina slowly became transparent and disappeared all together. "Where did you send her?" Caroleen smiled softly. "Somewhere familiar."
