Barbatos and Elaina had just told her father about her pregnancy. Elaina convinced Barbatos to extend their stay in the Celestial Realm for the weekend.

It was time for the White Phoenix migration and Elaina wanted to share the beautiful experience with Barbatos. Elaina looked forward to it every 100 years. She had become one with the Phoenix, and they accepted her. They weren't very trusting creatures and weary of even the angels, but after years of trying, Elaina was finally able to approach them. The matriarch even gifted her with a rare feather from her plumage, which she proudly wore in her hair.

When Elaina led Barbatos over the horizon to the open field where the Phoenix roamed, he let out an audible gasp. He had heard of the mythical creatures and studied them but they never migrated to Devildom, so he never got to see them in person. There were hundreds of them. He never knew so many existed, yet here they were hiding in the Celestial Realm and they were beautiful. "Elaina... This is amazing! Thank you for sharing this with me!" He smiled.

---earlier that day---

"Caleb! I need to ask you something!" Barbatos begged. Caleb was one of Elaina's eldest brothers. He was the one that heartily accepted Barbatos right away. "What can I do for you, Barbatos?" Caleb asked politely. "W-well... Are there any jewelry stores nearby? Good ones..." Caleb's face lit up. "Are you doing what I think you're doing?" He asked excitedly. "I know just the place!!! Let's go!!" Caleb said as he dragged Barbatos by the arm toward the city.

Barbatos and Caleb went out on the town in the Celestial Realm, looking for the perfect ring for Elaina. Barbatos had been cooking up this plan for a while now. He wanted to wait until the end of the year with Elaina to propose but that all changed when he found out she was pregnant. What a perfect time to propose to her,  then in her world and during her favorite event. It was a perfect opportunity.

They spent most of the day looking around various shops. "Caleb, not that I don't like spending time with you but didn't you say you knew the perfect place? Why are we going in and out of shops? I'm not finding anything good enough for Elaina." Caleb chuckled and put an arm around Barbatos's should. "My brother, I've saved the best place for last."

They arrived in front of a big natural-looking building, something that looked like a place Elaina would like. "This is the place. Want a unique ring worthy of my sister? You'll find it here. If you can't, it doesn't exist." Caleb grinned. Some bracelets wound around your arm like vines, necklaces in the shape of leaves, flower crowns, and the most gorgeous rings with beautiful natural cut rocks and gemstones. Bingo! This was perfect!

After looking around the store for a while, Barbatos was at a loss. Although there were many beautiful rings, nothing jumped out at him. Nothing screamed "Elaina"! "Are you okay, brother?" Caleb asked as Barbatos let out a tired sigh. "I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Elaina is unique and she deserves something just as interesting as she is. "Well hello, gentlemen! What can I help you with today?" A sales clerk approached the two. "We are looking for an engagement ring. It's for Elaina!" Caleb noted. "Ah! Princess Elaina!! Wonderful, wonderful! I suppose you are the lucky man? Congratulations! I have been Elaina's jeweler since she was a little girl. I made her first tiara. I can't believe she's all grown up and getting married" the man explained to Barbatos. "I just got a shipment of new rings. They are very much Elaina's style! I haven't put them out on the floor yet but for you, I'll grab them now."

The sales clerk wasn't wrong. These were more of what Barbatos was looking for. Definitely more unique than the others. His eyes fell on one in particular. It had a rose gold band with 3 raw diamonds in the center. Two white diamonds on the side of one large blue diamond in the center.

"Ah, lovely choice sir! This is very Princess Elaina. It also happens to come with the wedding band and a matching geode ring box!" Barbatos's face lit up. "It's perfect!!!" He and Caleb shared a huge smile as the sales clerk checked out the ring.

---Back to the White Phoenix Migration---

"I'm glad I get to share it with you Barbatos! It's such a beautiful event. I couldn't be happier!" Elaina sang. "Are you sure?" Barbatos asked. "What do you mean?" Elaina laughed. "Well, I can think of one way you could be happier." He smirked. "And what would that b-" she started to say but before she could finish Barbatos went down on one knee and pulled out the ring box. "Barbatos!!" She gasped. "Elaina, you are the most beautiful, most amazing being I have ever met. You are smart, funny, sweet, caring, and crazy. You have changed me for the better. At first, I wasn't sure about you. The whole situation of having a soulmate scared me, but the more I let you in, the more I realized how lucky I was to have found you. You are my everything and now you are carrying my child. So will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He coaxed.

Elaina just stared at him in complete shock. She didn't expect him to propose. She didn't think it would be so soon. It was like a dream. "E-Elaina...?" Barbatos questioned after a moment of silence. She snapped back into reality. "Yes," she whispered. "I-I'm sorry?" He asked. "YES!!" She shrilled. This time with more excitement as she threw her arms around him crying.

"I love you, Lainey!" Barbatos professed. "I love you too Batey! So much!" Elaina swooned as Barbatos placed the ring securely on her finger. They shared a passionate kiss as they watched the birds in the sunset.
