Barbatos's POV:

I sat in the courtyard wondering about the angel I had imprisoned. Her name was Elaina, and she was different from the other Celestials I had encountered. She did not seem to have the same "I am better than you attitude". She was down right sweet and it made me sick, but at the same time... I just wanted to see her again. She was beautiful with her long curly hair and her big hazel eyes. I actually sort of felt bad for keep her down in the dungeon and being the one that caused tears to cloud those precious eyes. That was not a feeling I was used to at all. I always hated angels, but there was something about her.

My master told me I was only allowed to go to the dungeon when he told me to, but the image of the angel shivering and crying kept appearing in my mind. Angels should not live in dark, cold places. They needed sun and warmth to thrive. It was ridiculous how fragile they were, especially one as young as her.  That, and then she mentioned children. Our children? At that moment, I saw what seemed like a memory play in my head of a little girl that looked just like me, but that was impossible. Love was not something I could give. I was incapable of love. I sighed heavily as I picked myself off of the bench and found my feet leading me to the kitchen. I brewed a fresh pot of hot rose tea, grabbed a wool blanket, and disobeyed orders by going to see the angel.

Elaina's POV:

Barbatos came to visit me. He surprised me by giving me warm tea and a nice blanket. I felt warm for the first time in days. I don't know if he fully understood what he had done or why he had done it, but I'm glad he did. He almost seemed normal, like his old self for that brief minute, but as soon as it had began, it had ended. It was my first taste of hope since being locked away. The brothers and Diavolo were convinced I could break this spell. At first I was in doubt but after this, maybe I could find it in me to keep fighting for everyone, including my husband.

Barbatos's POV

"I see you have disobeyed my orders." The King growled as I walked into the throne room the next morning. I was shocked, I was sure no one saw me go down to the dungeon. "I know everything, Barbatos. No point trying to deny it!" He spat. "My lord, I can only apologize for my misbehavior." I bowed lowly. "If I catch you disobeying my orders again, I will throw you in that dungeon along with the others! Do I make myself clear?" -"Yes, my lord!"

It was almost time for me to take the meals down for the day. I could not show any emotions toward anyone in the dungeon. I had to treat Elaina the same way I had been, not only to follow my lords orders but also to keep my sanity. No being should ever make me feel this way, especially not her. I walked down with trays in hand and took care of the males first. After that I went to Elaina's cell. She was all wrapped up the blanket I had given her and she seemed to be sleeping soundly for the first time since she had been down here. I could not help but stare at how peaceful she looked, but I had been caught and the moment ruined. "You feel it don't you?" The young prince asked. "The pull of emotion toward her. You can feel it." - "Do not speak to me." I replied. "I do not know what you are speaking of. She is a prisoner, a trespasser in Hell. That is all." I explained. "I don't believe you. I see the way you look at her. Something in your mind is telling you that she is telling the truth." - "NO!" I yelled. It startled Elaina awake. She gasped and looked at me in horror. I felt my heart skip a beat when she looked at me that way. It hurt, it actually hurt and I was so confused. I must have looked terrifying in that moment. She backed herself up against the wall and was breathing heavy. Next, I did something I did not intend. I opened the cell and slowly, cautiously walked over to her. I had never been one to look non-threatening. The way I moved, even if I tried to be kind, made me look like a monster. I was about to say something when....

"MOMMY!!! MOMMY!!!!!" I heard a little girl scream. "Wendy!? No, stay back!!" Elaina yelled. I turned to see a small child, one that looked just...like...me? I looked back at Elaina in utter shock. Something in my heart shattered. I turned to the little girl and moved quickly to reach her. Elaina let out a soft cry, but I swooped the girl up in my arms and... "Wendy?" I whispered softly. "Daddy!!" She cried, wrapping her little arms around my neck and snuggling into me. Tears started to stream down my face as I recognized my little angel. My little Wendy Darling.
