"Happy birthday, baby girl," Barbatos whispered as he walked over to his daughter's crib. She was still asleep, but Barbatos had to go and start his important duties for the day. He stroked the side of her cheek before turning to leave. He took one last look at her and Elaina, who was also still sleeping soundly before he closed the door quietly behind him to start the day.The kitchen staff had their hands full today, making tons of tasty cakes and pastries as well as the food for the event, especially because Beel would be there. "Barbatos! How are things going" Diavolo asked as he walked into the kitchen with party supplies. "Everything seems to be going according to plan. Thanks for helping, I know your birthday is coming up soon too, so I appreciate the help with Wendy's party." Barbatos smiled. "Not a problem! She is my goddaughter after all." Diavolo beamed.

It was mid-afternoon and guests began to show up to honor the newest Celestial Princess's first birthday, including Michael and Caleb. It was rumored that Elaina's eldest sibling Rosaline would be in attendance, however, Simeon informed them that she had business elsewhere and was unable to make it. "She is very sorry she couldn't make it. She really wants to meet Wendy, but she is so busy in the human realm at the moment." Simeon apologized. "It's not a problem! I know Rosie is a busy angel. I'm never mad at her for doing her duties." Elaina smile. She loved her sister. She was the reigning princess in the Celestial Realm. The one with the "official title". All of Michael's children had a title, but Rosaline was the real deal! She took her role very seriously and Elaina admired her, but being the eldest meant more responsibility and less free time, so it was rare to see her. Even the brothers barely knew her.
"My, my! Look at Wendy! She's gotten so big!" Michael cooed as he reached for her. At first, she seemed apprehensive, she didn't seem to remember her grandfather, but after a few moments in his arms, she seemed to relax a bit. Michael had a calming aura about him and it always came in handy when taking care of children. After a few seconds of staring at him, Wendy continued smiling and babbling like always. "Wow, she's so talkative! Just like her mother!" He joked. "You've got that right!" Barbatos laughed. "Hey!!" Elaina giggled, but they weren't wrong.
"Can I hold her?" Caleb asked eagerly. Michael pouted slightly, not wanting to let her go, but he sucked it up and handed the baby to his son. "Hey, there little girl! I'm your uncle Caleb. You...are...adorable!" He laughed. Wendy was not sure about him. She started to fidget and Barbatos could feel her discomfort, but he liked Caleb so he decided to help. He joked around with the two of them to ease the tension. He stood next to Caleb and made faces, whispering what to do to make her laugh and Caleb would do it. Elaina was beaming with pride knowing that Barbatos and her family were getting along as well as knowing that he was more comfortable being a daddy.
The party went down without a hitch. The brothers, the Celestial guests, and the Devildom guests decided to put aside their differences to celebrate Wendy's birthday, a child of both demon and angel blood. Everyone was happy and having fun.
"Time for cake!" Barbatos sang as he brought a little cake out for Wendy and a nice tiered cake for the guests. He wasn't looking forward to the tradition of letting the birthday girl get all messy, but it was tradition and he would just have to deal with it. Maybe he'd make Elaina clean her up. The guests all began to sing "Happy Birthday" but Wendy did NOT like it. She cried a lot until the singing was over and then stopped abruptly and looked rather confused after they were finished, earning laughs all around.
All night she got her praises. "She's so beautiful! ... She's so special!... What a lovely child! ... She's so precious!" Barbatos and Elaina were full of pride the whole night, beaming from ear to ear.

"Ugh... What a fun, yet exhausting day!" Elaina exclaimed as she sprawled out onto the bed and kicked off her shoes. "Yes, it was! I enjoyed it though. It has been a while since I had been surrounded by so many people and having them all be pleasant. It was nice." Barbatos said.
He brought Wendy to the bed and sat down next to Elaina, letting Wendy crawl over to her mother. "A-gaga... Adagaga... Daaa...adada... D-D-daaada." Wendy babbled. "D-did she just say, Dada??" Barbatos asked. "Huh... Oh, don't know. I think she just babbling." Elaina replied. She was busy scrolling through her D.D.D. "No... I think she said it."
Elaina put her phone down and turned to face them. "Say that again, Wendy? Say dada? Saaaaay da-da, daa-daa?" She encouraged. "D-D-daaaa....." Wendy squealed. "Daaaa...daaa... Dada, dada!!!" Both parents snapped their heads up and looked at each other in shock. "She said it!!!! She said, Dada!!! Her first words!!!" Barbatos exclaimed. Elaina clapped with enthusiasm. "Yay Wendy!!! You said your first word!!!" Wendy looked at her with a big smile. "Dada Dada dada dada dada!!" She kept saying clapping and wiggling around like she just won a grand prize. The parent nuzzled their little girl lovely, so proud of their little miracle. "Let's have another." Elaina blurted.
