Celestial Realm

"Now we just have to tell my father..."

"You have ruined the moment." Barbatos groaned. "We are just a little over halfway through the year. This is all happening too soon." He panicked. "Now, now. Don't go revert back to being upset about the situation, Batey. It's not going to help." Elaina sighed. "No, I'm sorry! I did not mean it like that. Well, I did, but more to what Michael will think about this whole thing. I promised to protect you and I end up getting you pregnant 7 months later and out of wedlock at that. I do not think your father will take that lightly." Elaina pondered the idea of telling her father. Barbatos was right, her father was not going to be happy at all, but honestly, she was still excited. With Barbatos by her side, she was ready to be a mom.

A week had passed since Elaina and Barbatos announced their pregnancy to their friends and family in Devildom. They were all supportive, even Lucifer came around. "Are you ready to go back home, princess?" Simeon asked. Elaina nodded her head. She was going back to the Celestial Realm to share the news with her father. She decided to take a major risk and apply to bring Barbatos home with her. It was extremely difficult, near impossible, to bring a demon back to the Celestial Realm but she had to try. She didn't want to do it alone. She was pleasantly surprised when her application was approved. "Alright Batey, are you ready?" She smiled. "Ready as I'll ever be." He sighed nervously. Simeon, Barbatos, and Elaina stepped through the portal and entered the Celestial Realm. Barbatos's eyes widened in awe. This realm was much different than Devildom. It was bright, clean, and inviting. His eyes immediately fell on the big beautiful palace in front of them, Elaina's home.

Michael sat on his throne waiting for the couple to arrive. As harsh as it seemed, he had hoped that their relationship would fail. He loved his daughter, but he feared losing her to that demon. He was quite disappointed when he checked in with Simeon last month, who reported that their relationship had only grown stronger with time. He was excited that his daughter wanted to come home but he was curious as to why. "Sir, your youngest has arrived. She and hers are being escorted here by your sons." Michael readied his staff for the princess's return.

"Father!!" Elaina ran to Michael and threw her arms around him. He graciously returned the gesture. Michael had many children but they had already left the nest and started their own lives. Elaina was his last child at home and now she was spreading her wings and about to leave as well. "My child, I've missed you so much. How have you been? How is Devildom?" "Well, father I... I think we should all go out to the veranda to talk."

"YOU'RE WHAT!?" Michael exploded. The sky suddenly grew dark and thunder rolled through the realm. Elaina cowered behind Barbatos as her father fumed with rage. Barbatos was terrified but tried his best to keep a calm exterior for his love. "This is unacceptable! I should have never let you go there. I knew it was a mistake! You should have stayed home with me!" He shook. "Father! You can't keep me locked up like a child. I am an adult and I have the right to live my own life! You had no way of knowing that I would find my soulmate in Devildom but I have and this is what fate has decided for us.

Please, father, I know that this isn't ideal but it's the reality of things nonetheless. We cannot change it. I don't want to. I am carrying my soulmate's child and I couldn't be happier." Barbatos and Michael both just stared at Elaina. Barbatos was proud that Elaina stood up for herself and him as well. He wanted to say something, but he repressed the urge, knowing that unless he was asked to speak, he should not get into their affairs.

"YOU!!" Michael pointed at Barbatos. "You did this! You are responsible for my baby having a baby. You promised to take care of her and respect her and then you go and do this. How irresponsible! I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. You probably did this on purpose to spite me." Barbatos felt Elaina's anger building. She was about to step forward to defend him again when he swallowed his pride and spoke up. "How dare you say such terrible things? I would never take advantage of Elaina. Can you not set aside your pride for the happiness of your daughter? True, it was irresponsible of us and we should have been more careful, but Elaina is right. This is our reality and I will do everything in my power to protect my family!

I love Elaina, more than words could ever express! I don't know what I can do or say to show you that. My life has been full of hate and regret, but Elaina has changed my life. She has given me so much happiness and love. She brings out the best in me and I will do everything in my power to give her and our child the best life. I will give them all of me." Barbatos clarified.

Michael looked down at the couple from his throne. The thunderous storm came to a stop and the sky slowly cleared. He sat down and brought his hand to his temple sighing. "You seem to have made your decision Elaina. Barbatos... What you just said to me... 'I don't know what I can do or say to show you that.' Well, you just did. You coming to Elaina's defense like that, protecting her. I can tell that you love my daughter. There is nothing I can do to change her mind. I can see that now. I am not happy with this child being conceived out of wedlock, that isn't how we do things here, however, this child is coming, my grandchild is coming. I will love them as I do all of my grandchildren. Just promise me that you two will stick together." The couple looked at each other and back at Michael. "We promise." They both said together, smiling.
