The quinjet rocks heavily, at the same time that chaos erupts on the ground. The comlinks are a chaotic mess of checking up on others and seeing who is wounded and who needs help fighting.
"Get to Buck! He's hurt and surrounded!" You hear Steve. Tony answers that he is close.
You feel sick, this bad feeling became reality.
"Y/n, take a deep breath. You'll be needed, but we can't trust on your help when you are panicking. They have it under control." Clint tries to calm you down.
"Loki, could you stop the illusions and come help? We need you." It's Tony.
The God of Mischief looks up with a smile, "Natasha, dear, could you open the back and let me out?"
"Of course. I'll let you know when it is safe to jump."
You hear the hatch open and Natasha counting down.
"Yes, go!" Clint follows Loki too, bow at the ready and already firing and explosive arrow while still landing, effectively knocking down a whole group of enemy soldiers.
"I'm going to land and help you. I'll leave the cloak on so you can stay here." Natasha tells you.
"I'm coming too." You feel worry, pain, anger bubbling up in you, ready to burst. You need something to do, and you still remember some of the training you did. You're unsure if you can still fight blind as it has been a long while.
"If you're sure?" Natasha asks.
You hear people saying for you to stay put but you filter those out.
Natasha lands the jet and opens the back.
Immediately soldiers run in, holding you at gunpoint.
Based on a flare of instinct you hold op your arm, slowly moving it up, hand palm up, before making a fist and putting all your anger and pain and worry into it.
The soldiers are taken out of the jet by twigs and swallowed up by the ground.
"Ehm..." You say, perplexed.
"Interesting. Could you do that again?" Natasha asks while she runs past you and motions to follow.
"I don't even know how I did that."
"Follow your instincts! We're close now. Be prepared."
The battleground turns visible. You see everyone fighting. Most are hurt one way or another but still fighting.
You see how a horde of soldiers are trying to get Bucky down, already having him on his knees.
You take out your earpiece and fall to your knees, hands flat on the earth.
"Make this stop." You whisper, hurt and worry evident in your voice.
Nothing happens.
"Leave my team alone but take the others. Safe my friends, please." You whisper again, making fists and grabbing some grass.
Nothing again.
Pure anger floors your senses and you get up.
"Make it stop!" You scream furiously.
A burst flows through the earth. Holes appear swallowing up soldiers, twigs and branches wrap around other soldiers before disappearing in the ground with said soldiers.
You feel energy leaving you, but you hold on tight, needing to get your friends, newfound family, to safety.
When the last soldier disappears, you fall to your knees, drained, unable to stand upright.
There is a soft whisper going through the air, "the payment for helping you is already paid by the lives of these soldiers."
The next thing you hear is people surrounding you.
"Give her space. She just saved our asses." Tony says, voice in pain yet making sure you are less surrounded. He acts different though.
"I'll tend to Bucky. He'll be fine." You hear Bruce say.
You open your eyes to see Bucky leaning heavily against Steve, both pressing on a wound on Bucky's right side.
"Help me up?" You ask.
Clint and Natasha support you to get to Bucky. They help you back to your knees in front of him, knowing you would just fall down hard on your knees otherwise.
"If I say let go, you let go. Until then hold on tight." You whisper, vision already wavering a bit.
"No, Doll, you are burned out. I'll be fine."
"I can do it. I am still okay. Just exhausted."
With your hands you press on the wound and start gathering your healing power. You start healing until it is safe for the other hands to stop pressing, "let go." You whisper, pressing harder on the wound and feeling it heal against your fingers.
Once you feel soft skin again, you let go.
"Thank you, Doll. You didn't have to."
"I know, but I needed to."
You turn your blind eyes to where you hope Steve is, "are you hurt?"
"Only some scratches. They'll heal within a few days."
"If I afterwards hear you lied to me, I'll be mad. But I believe you for now. Anyone else hurt that needs healing now?"
No one answers.
"Guys, I'm not this fragile. I can still heal some wounds. I will not risk a burn out. I'll tell you if I can't."
"Tony got part of his suit stuck in his leg. His suit was blown off partially, and caused a big part to be stuck in his leg."
"Guide me to him. I need someone to pull the metal out once I say it needs to be removed."
You get lifted up by Bucky, you feel his metal arm.
"I'm going to put you down now, okay?"
You nod and feel yourself being set down on the ground. "Can someone put my hands on either side of the metal in Tony's leg?"
Gentle female hands guide you to the wound. You feel the piece of metal in between your hands.
Taking a deep breath, you start the healing proces, saying, "now!" when the metal needs to be removed.
Something trickles down your nose, you are guessing a nose bleed so you know you are at your limit.
You push a bit further to be sure the leg is all healed up.
Sweat covers your forehead, you're shaking like a leaf when you are done with Tony's leg.
"Thank you, Y/n."
A weak smile takes over your lips.
You know Bucky lifted you up again, "we're going back to the quinjet and get you home." You nod and close your eyes, resting against Bucky's shoulder.
In the quinjet, Natasha takes the pilot seat again and starts flying all of you back to the tower.
During the flight you must have fallen asleep because next thing you know you wake up on a soft mattress, you think, surrounded by arms and legs, a body on each of your sides.
"You're awake?" Steve asks.
"Yeah." Your voice still sounds a bit weak, but you feel so much better than before.
"I'm glad you're awake again. You got us all worried." Bucky whispers in your ear.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you."
"We know. Jarvis, could you let the others know Y/n is awake?"
"Of course Mr Barnes."
"How long did I sleep?"
"2 days, 4 hours and 43 minutes. I wasn't counting or anything." Steve answers, wrapping his arms a bit tighter around you.
"That's long. Yet my sight is still gone."
"You did a lot during the fight. You made it stop immediately."
"No, I'm not ready to unwrap that mystery. I have no clue how I did that. Can I just rest and get back on my feet and hope to see something again soon?"
"We won't pressure you, sweetheart."
A knock on the door makes your head turn.
"Yes?"
The door opens, you wait for someone to say something.
"I wanted to check how you were doing." Loki.
"I'm fine. Thanks for asking. How are you, Loki?"
"I'm well. You got us worried there for a moment."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. It's fine. You are a bit better now?"
You shrug, sitting up a bit once you subtly felt if you have clothes on.
"If you feel ready, I think we all like to see you are doing better. And the dogs really want to see you. We didn't want to let them in the room while you were recovering. We'll be in the living room."
You hear the door close.
"Help me find clothing, please?" You ask to no one in particular.
Your two super soldiers move, throwing things on the bed for you.
In no time you are dressed in comfortable clothing.
"Let's go then." You say, leaning into Steve, who you know is holding you.
