Chapter 42

Waking up, you feel only one body next to you. You turn to him, hoping to figure out if it is either Bucky or Steve.

"Morning sweetheart. Bucky is talking with Loki. He came and asked for you about something, but after seeing you asleep no one wanted to wake you. Bucky is talking with him about what it felt like for him afterwards."

You nod before yawning.

"What time is it?" You ask.
"It's a little past 2 in the afternoon."
Your face must look shocked because Steve grins, "you did something really exhausted. And since we are in lock down in the tower, we got nowhere to be. So it's okay. Bucky brought me breakfast and lunch so you were never alone."
"That's sweet."

Carefully you turn again to be able to sit down.
"I could eat. Would you mind walking with me?" You ask.
"Of course, sweetheart, no need to ask for that, I would've done that either way."

You feel a bit slow as you get out of bed, but you know it is because of the energy you used up on top of already feeling low energy.
"Do you want to change clothes or shower first?"
"Are you telling me I stink, Mr. Rogers?" You ask with a laugh in your voice.
"No, but I want you to feel comfortable."
"You are too sweet. I'd like to eat something first and take a long bath afterwards."
"Good to know."

Steve gently puts your arm on his arm and guides you through the room and hallway into the elevator.
Once out of the elevator you hear so many voices.
"Sleeping beauty is awake it seems."
"Aaahw, you're just jealous, Natasha." You stuck out your tongue before sitting down on the stool Steve guided you to.
"Nah, you can do the beauty sleep for the both of us." Natasha sounds closer to you than before.

"What would you like for a late lunch?" Steve interrupts.
"Surprise me, sweety. I'm hungry."
"Of course."

You hear a lot of things happening in the kitchen and soon delicious scents invade your nose.
"So, how did it go for Loki?" Natasha asks.
"It went okay. It's different from healing Bucky, but it is doable for sure. It might take a bit longer to heal than Buck, yet I am positive that I can finish it before the month ends."
"That's 3 weeks, Doll, you sure you can do that?" You hear from behind.

"Positive. If I can keep finding the branches like I did yesterday and they unravel like it did yesterday it should go pretty easily. I could take a 2 to 3 day break in between. Of course if the control is going to fight back, it might take longer."
"I'm glad you see it as something that can be done that fast." Loki's voice sounds tired but okay.
"How are you feeling Lokes?"
"Just a bit tired, but very much okay. Your boyfriend talked me through my questions, so I have some more clarity on that part."
"He's amazing, isn't he."
"He is."

You feel a slight change in the air, a subtle jealousy.
A smile creeps itself on your lips, trying to pinpoint from where that came.

You are deep in thought, finding 2 places where a soft jealousy gets excreded. One close by, the other a bit further away.

"Who's all in the area?" You ask, still in thought.
"Clint is in the kitchen to your right near the fridge, Steve is cooking, Natasha is seated next to you, Loki and I are standing on the right side of you and Tony is looking at his tablet in the seating area. Why?" Bucky asks.
"Nothing specific. It's just an interesting thing I might have possibly figured out."
"And that is?" Clint asks.
"Nothing for me to tell of course." You smile in the general direction where Clint's voice came from.

You hear movement again, someone sitting down next to you, while someone else moves to the kitchen. Based on the steps Loki sat down next to you and Bucky is helping Steve.

A soft pressure can be felt inside your head, similar to Loki connecting you during the healing.
You open up to the pressure to hear Loki.

So what did you figure out?

Nothing special. Don't you need to touch me to have a clear communication line?

Only during high stress or something that could potentially become exhausting, like yesterday was.

Interesting.

So, you gonna tell me what you know?

Two people where jealous when you confirmed that Bucky's amazing.

Aaaah... So you can feel emotions?

No, just, I don't know. I felt jealousy in the air. Something when I stay blind for a prolonged period of time, my body tends to adapt a bit more. So I felt it, yes. The area next to me and a bit further back.

And you know who they are?

Yes, yes. Are you aware?

I am, they know. Well we know. We're just trying to figure things out. It's a bit complicated on some parts.

Like Nat being more on the ace side of the spectrum, but still enjoying some play time? Or is it that Tony's mind races at 1,000 miles an hour and he can't focus on one thing for a long period of time?

That exactly. And then there is me who has trust issues and still under mind control so I don't really trust myself yet either.

And those two understand?

Yeah they do. It's new to me to be able to communicate as much as I am able to with those two. We just have to tell each other where we stand on something and they just talk about it and how to integrate it in the bigger picture. They care.

And I am happy for you. You deserve it Lokes, you deserve all the love. Be it loving you in a friends kind of way like I do and possibly most of the team, be it in a relationship kind of way like Tony and Natasha do.
You deserve it.

"What are you two talking about?" Tony's voice filters through the communication line between you and Loki. It takes a moment for you to actually comprehend the question.
"Nothing really, just that Loki deserves to be happy. Why?"
"Because your both teary-eyed."
"It's not a bad response for me."
"For me neither, Y/n is just too kind sometimes."
"Only sometimes?" You ask fake offended.
"You know it!" Loki laughs as he says it.
