Unfortunately Fortunate [Stucky x Reader]

Chapter 17

What was supposed to be a quick visit to get some coffee ends up being a full 2 hours of talking with Leah. She seems to have the same kind of interests as you which makes it so easy to talk to her.
Occasionally she has to help a customer but overall it isn't all too busy.

"So how are these two dorks? They've been pining for you since Bucky laid eyes on you."
Leah leans forward a bit on het elbows on the counter, interested in what you are going to say.
"We're standing right here, you know." Bucky says as he looks amused at the two girls.
"You don't want to hear me say how amazing you guys are? How I have been pining for the two of you for a long while too? How I feel like it is a dream to have both of you too? How life seems so much more brighter with the two of you? And how sweet these two are when I lose my sight, without treating me as if I am different then." You keep looking to your two super soldier while you say all that.
A big smile covers your face, while you feel like there are butterflies in your stomach making you giddy.

"Aaaaahw you are way too cute! Look at you, all in awe because your girlfriend said that." You all turn to Leah who has a slight blush on her face. "You guys really are too cute! Now please be on your merry way so I can work while feeling all floaty because of your love confession." She dramatically fans her face with her hands while smiling.

"We'll be back Leah. Have a good day."
"You too, you three." She smirks as she realises what she said before cleaning the whole counter. Getting rid of some of the spilled coffee and whipped cream.

Outside the three of you walk arm in arm. You in the middle, Steve to your right and Bucky to your left. Bucky is gently holding Hope's lead, as they wander around the streets back to the Avengers Tower.
"So, I bet that someone has called an animal shelter nearby and made sure that only the whole group can be present and no outside people." You start.
"Either Tony called for it." Steve sounds not 100% sure, but it is a good bet.
"Or Natasha and Wanda. Wouldn't surprise me if they put the phone on speaker." Bucky finished.

They enter through the doors and step in the elevator that Jarvis already brought down once he spotted the three of you in his cameras.
"So Jarv, who called?" You ask.
"No one was right, Y/n, it was Rhodey that called. Sam was there to take over the conversation if Rhodey said something wrong."
"Ah I still won the bet," you smile while biting your lip, "I did say that someone called. I didn't specify. What is my reward?"

Bucky and Steve seem to silently communicate for a while before smiling.
"You'll see tonight, Doll," purrs Bucky in your ear. The sound just a sliver away from being a growl. It makes you shiver.
"You'll like it sweetheart, you set the pace, yet you'll like it so much." Steve whispers in your ear.
You breath out hard, swallow and try to make your mind coherent again.
"Did we leave you speechless, Doll?" Bucky's voice indicates that he knows the two of them did.
"I need a second." You get out. You take calming breaths until you feel this hunger leave you. This need caused by your boyfriends.

After several deep calming breaths and ignoring the way your guys are watching you.
"I'm okay, I'm okay," you turn to your super soldiers,  "I look forward to tonight." You bite your lip seductively before turning away as the elevator pings.
"We were halfway thinking you'll look... indecent when coming out the elevator." Sam says, a teasing tone in his voice as he looks at the three of you.
At your confused look Tony clarifies, "Jarvis stopped the elevator between two levels for a bit."

Your eyes turn big as you turn to Steve then to Bucky. They don't look shocked at all. "You knew." Bucky smirks, Steve looks a bit guilty.
"Well, guess we can make use of that someday." You whisper hoping only they can here it.
Steve turns bright red, while Bucky gets a naughty glint in his eyes.
"Oh Doll, you shouldn't have said that." He wraps his arms around your waist and kisses your neck.

A cough makes Bucky look up. "If you would be so kind to get ready to go to the shelter? Rhodey and Sam made an appointment."
"Oh, I'm ready to go. I don't need anything else. I have everything with me."

And that is how you find all of you at the animal shelter they had an appointment with.

"Good afternoon. I am Kimberly and I will help you with finding the perfect dog for you." She looks over the group before focussing on Hope."
"And who is this cutie? Is this the service dog Hope the person on the phone told me about?"
"Yes, this is Hope. She helps me out when I turn blind. She is not working right now as I have sight now."
Kimberly looks a bit confused at that.

"I have a gift where I can heal everyone but to do that my sight gets sacrificed for an unknown period of time. Could be a day, could be much longer. And Hope helps me out then."
The sweet woman looks in awe at Hope, but unsure if she can acknowledge her.
"You said she isn't working but can I talk and pet her? Or if that is still not done."
That almost tears you up.
"You can talk and pet her. Thank you so much for asking. This means a lot for me, but also for everyone else that has a service dog that you know what can and cannot be done."
Kimberly's face softens as she smiles, "of course."

You unleash Hope and awaits her response to Kimberly who calls her. Hope sniffs around a bit before slowly letting her be pet with a wagging tail.

"Not to interrupt this sweet meeting, but when... Dogs?" Sam looks impatient.
This makes you laugh before giving them all a limit, "let's say max 3 other dogs. A pack of 4 is a lot of work. More would be too much for now."
Everyone agrees before Kimberly leads the way to a door.
"How is Hope's recall?"
"She listens to whatever I command."
"Then she can stay off leash. It's not our usual protocol but she needs to feel safe with the dogs too."
You smile and nod before Kimberly opens the door and we are met with a lot of barking.

A/N: A lot has happened since I started this story. I finished college, found a job real fast and now I work there full time, dog catching as a volunteer, streaming on Twitch and slowly building my community there. It's crazy especially during this pandemic. I hope everyone stays safe! I'll do my best to get regular updates in but I can't promise that between work, Twitch streaming and dog catching... But I am going to try and update at least once a week!
