You're seated on a sofa, Bucky on your right, Wanda on your left.

"Can I ask you something?" Wanda asks. You turn to her and try to guess where her eyes are.
"Sure."
"How do you do this? Like you turn blind every time you help someone. It can't be easy."
"It's not fun, far from even, but I am used to it. The first day is horrible because I have to remember everything but soon I know how I can function again."

You hear JARVIS welcome people.

"Sounds awful." Bucky remarks.
"I got used to it. It's not as awful anymore."

"Is this the girl I was on the phone with?" You hear someone, Sam, say.
"If you are Sam Wilson, than yes. That was me." You smile and turn the way the voice came from.
"Welcome back Cap, Sam." Wanda says.

"Mr Stark asked me to let you know supper will be ready in an hour. He asked if you could all move to the dining room by 7pm." JARVIS says.
"JARVIS is it possible that you could you give me a reminder at 6.55pm?"
"Of course Ms L/N"
"Thank you."

You feel how someone sits down on the same sofa, next to Bucky.

"How was the meeting?" Bucky asks.

"Fury wasn't happy with our latest mission. Especially since so many of us got hurt in the process. He also gave some shit about you again because someone wrote in the report that you got triggered again. I convinced him that it was irrelevant."

You know a bit about the Hydra assassin turned Avenger. "I can help?" you say, making it sound like a question because of uncertainty.

There is silence. "I don't know how you are triggered and when it happens. I only know my ability and that I am able to undo triggers. It takes time but I can. I know I ask a lot by asking me to trust you with this, but I can help. If you want to of course."

Again silence. "I can't see what your expressions are. The silence is killing me. Can someone please say something."

"Tell me how it works." Bucky's voice sounds tight.

"Erm, okay. So after you tell me what happens I can tap in your brain. It isn't like I will be in your brain, it's more like I connect to the nerve endings and that way I unravel and undo the triggers. It doesn't hurt but it takes time. I know that if you have multiple triggers it might take more than a few days. It's all based on trust. If you trust me enough to let me do this, I trust you too let me do my thing. And as I said, it doesn't hurt you."

"What are the after effects?" Steve's voice sounds soft, uncertain.

"There are no after effects for Bucky. He just gets de-triggered. He might feel a bit exhausted after it because it takes a lot out of his mind. Even if he doesn't feel anything about it. It's like I healed his wound. He didn't feel anything of it either."

"And for you?" Bucky asks.

"I am blind for a while, but it's worth it. It's a temporary after effect for a permanent solution. As I said, it's worth it."

"Don't lie about that." Wanda says silently.

You sigh. "It hurts a little for me, I can see the triggers, I feel the effects they have. But it's innocent. It's something I am willing to do."

Silence again. You hear Hope walk in and she presses her body against your leg, head on your knee. Reassuring. She knows when you get anxious. Petting her, you wait for someone to say something.

"I'll think about it." Bucky says, his voice betrays how tense he is about this.

You nod and keep on petting your dog.

Lost in thought you don't realise it immediately, but when JARVIS mentions that it is 6.55pm, you become aware of it. You are seeing shades. It's still black but you see things. Movements. It's like some of the black is less black. You smile happily while standing up.

"What are you smiling about?" Steve asks curiously while he puts your arm on his.
"I'm seeing some things. Like movements. Some of the dark is like a little less dark. I can't fully see, I'm not able to do things alone yet, but I am starting to see again."
"That is amazing news."

You walk to a spot. He stops for a while. "There are... 30, maybe 31 stairs in front of us."

"Oh, okay, thank you." You carefully take the stairs.
"These are the last two." He says as you take the last two steps. He walks you to the dining room and stops.
"Here's your chair." He pulls it back and you sit down. He pulls your chair closer so you are sitting at the table instead of far away from it.

"It's kind what you offered them." You hear from your left. The voice sounds like Bruce.
"I would do it for everyone." He hums approvingly.

You hear someone sit down to your right, not sure who it is. A snout suddenly presses against your leg, startling you.
"Hope, sweety, I think Tony has something special made for you." You hear Natasha say. Mystery solved who sits next to you.

"Of course I did. This little dog has an important job."

"Don't spoil her too much Stark. She is not on duty now, but she might start to have favourites this way." You say with a laugh in your voice.

"Would I ever do that?" You decide to not answer that.
"Is there anything you don't eat?" Natasha asks.

"I don't eat meat, nor do I eat fish. I'm a vegetarian, but aside from that I like everything."

"Okay. I'll put a bit of everything on your plate, aside from meat and stuff."

You thank her and wait until your plate is put in front of you.

Waiting for the others to finish putting food on their plate, you feel for the cutlery. One fork, one knife, one spoon and a little spoon. Okay, no figuring out which fork to take. That's good.

"You don't have to wait to eat, I think Buck and Cap are on their second plate already." Bruce silently whispers to you.

"Thank you." You whisper back and carefully take the fork and knife. Eating is a difficulty if you don't put the food on you plate, but you manage.

While eating you feel part of a family, even if you don't know them that well. And they are so kind to Hope, to you. They support you but don't coddle you.

Maybe you might take Tony up on his offer.
