(Phone conversation)

Liam: Hello? 

Caller: (something heavy drops, sidewalk noises, plastic rustles)

(Pause)

Liam: 'Tang ina, sino 'to?

Caller: (female voice) Hello? Please, don't curse...

Liam: Uh... (clears throat) Sorry. Sino po ito?

Caller: (soft voice) Sa Montecristo Apartment ba ito?

Liam: Hindi... pero... puwede na rin. Sino po ito? 

Caller: This is Millicent Abuevida. I'll be renting apartment 145 at ngayon ako lilipat... Uhm... The landlord's expecting me... but I think... naliligaw ako?

Liam: Okay, Miss Millicent—

Caller: Miles na lang.

Liam: Okay, Miss Miles, what's your situation? Nasa sasakyan ka ba? Commute? May mover na inupahan?

Caller: Uh... wala akong masyadong gamit so walang mover na need upahan. Dalawang maleta lang ang dala ko. I got off the taxi at a street... I don't remember. Sorry.

Liam: Medyo magulo mga kalye papunta rito. Nasa'n ka ngayon para matulungan kita? 

Caller: (Pause) Uhm, nasa 7-eleven ako ngayon...

Liam: (whispers "tangina") Ano... May apat na 7-eleven sa paligid, Miles.

Caller: Really? 

Liam: (sighs) Oo. 

Caller: Ba't... parang galit ka?

Liam: (whispers "ampota") Hindi naman galit. Bale, ano... (pause) tingin ka sa labas ng 7-eleven. Ano'ng nakikita mong establishment?

Caller: Manukan...?

Liam: (whispers "manukan ampota") You mean, tindahan ng lechon manok?

Caller: (soft laugh) Oo pala, sorry. 

Liam: (whispers "ginawang manukan ampota") Alam ko na kung nasa'n 'yan. Stay put ka na lang. Sunduin kita.

Caller: Oh. That's so nice of you. Naka-red dress ako at red boots. Medyo kulot. Pretty. 

(Pause)

Caller: Hello?

Liam: Nandito pa. (clears throat) Naka-white shirt at walking short lang ako. Matangkad. Guwapo. 

Caller: (giggles) So 'pag may lumapit pero hindi guwapo, hindi ikaw?

Liam: 'Pag wala akong nakitang maganda, kahit naka-red dress at red boots, hindi rin ikaw?

Caller: (laughing) You'll see me for sure. 

Liam: Ako rin. You'll see me. (laughs)

Caller: (still laughing) Okay. What's your name again? 

Liam: Liam guwapo, Miss.

Caller: Oh my god! (laughs)

Liam: (Clicks tongue) Tama na nga. 'Ge. Punta na 'ko diyan. 

Caller: Thanks. See you.

Liam: 'Ge.
