1. First Day Back

KARL POV:

I rush out of the house, yelling a goodbye to my parents. I run to the school bus that stops a bit further down my street and slink into a chair. I take out my phone and text my friends.

Meow: Im on the bus where r u
Fireboy: omw
Meow: you better be
Meow: where r y quackity
Las drugas: at schl
Fireboy: already?
Las drugas: i got forced to come
Meow: so Ill see u there :(
Meow: I havent seen any of you in months i just realised
Fireboy: karl it was a month and a half. you left me with dream and george for a month and a half.
Meow: Im sorry :(
Green guy: guys its 7 30 shut up
Meow: Dream some of us take the bus and cant drive to school whenever
Las drugas: yeah dream
Green guy: shut up
Green guy: also whoever changed the names change me back

I smiled and turn off my phone. The bus comes to another stop and more people flood on.

Someone drops onto the seat next to me and slings their arm over my shoulders.

"Karl! I haven't seen you in ages!"

I laugh and tuck my phone into my pocket

"Hey Sapnap," I reply.

"How much do you reckon George is still asleep and is gonna be late?" He grins.

"I'm not one for betting, that's Quackity, but I think he is most definitely gonna oversleep,"

We share a grin and talk about pointless things that happened while I was away in North Carolina.

"But yeah, I missed you dude," Sapnap says.

"I missed you too. Jimmy and the gang are nice but I love my best friends," I smile.
We fall silent for a second then I remember what I had to ask.
"Sapnap! Did you get your mark?"

"I did, I told you on the chat,"

I blink. "Oh yeah. I got mine though!"

"That's great!" He smiles at me and I fizz inside.
The bus pulls to a final stop outside the school, and as soon as the doors open, Sapnap and I fly out, searching for Quackity.

I see a blue beanie through the people and rush towards it, Sapnap on my tail.

"QUACKITY!" I yell, thowing myself at him in a hug. He stumbles back.

"Karlos!"

"Meow,"

"Dude, I told you to stop meowing,"

I shrug.
Sapnap waves at Quackity and Quackity nods. "Meet any hot chicks while we were gone?"

Sapnap whacks him round the head and Quackity laughs

I point toward the school.
"In?"
The others confirm and we walk in. Somewhere between the door and our homeroom we find our other best friends, BadBoyHalo and Skeppy.

When we walk in, Dream and George are talking in the back. Bad and Skeppy grab 2 seats at the front and we head to the back row.

Dream grins at us.
"Back row boys?"

We laugh. The five of us have been sitting at the back in every class we are all in since the start of time.

"George, how were you here before us?" Sapnap asks.

He shrugs and we slide into the remaining backs seats, just as the teacher walks in.

"Hello students, lovely to see you again. Talk among yourselves for a bit while I get the register up,"

"So, how were your summers?" Dream asks, looking over at us.

"Cool. I hung out with Jimmy and that lot, but I had to spend so much time with family there. And they didn't even let me go on my phone," I complain.

George winces. "Quackity? How about you, you left us too,"

"Same as every summer. I ate food, met family, got my marks, over heated-"

Dream cuts him off.

"You got your marks? As in plural?"

He nods and opens his mouth. Dream cuts him off.
"Do all of you have 2? God,"

"Silence! I'm doing the register, back to your seats,"

We fall silent and wait.

"Ok! Thank you for being so quiet, now, timetables. Can someone- oh, thanks dear,"
A girl stands up and starts handing out our timetables.

When we all have them, the teacher allows us to talk and compare.

"Lunch periods are the same.
Who else has a free after?" George asks.

I scan my timetable, the others do the same.

"Nope. But I do tommorrow," I say. Dream and Sapnap agree.

"I have both," Quackity says, and George nods.

"Ok, we'll go out tomorrow then, and stay here today," Dream says, settling it.

"Sounds like a plan!" I grin.

I walk up to my room and fling down my bag. I take my hoodie off, and pull my shirt down. Wait. The blue is shimmering? I pull down my collar and look at my shoulders. The orange is shimmering too.

"Mom? Ma?" I call
"Come up here,"

My mothers stick their heads round my door. I show them my shoulders.

"Is that meant to happen?" I ask, worried.

"Yeah, it's completely normal," my ma says.

"It is. When you meet your soulmate, it goes shimmery. When you actually make a move, it disappears,"
Mom adds on.

I look at them.
"Oh... um. I met them both today?"

"You did?" My mom flies into the room and hugs me. I hug back, still in shock.

"Now, you gotta find them,"

I swallow. Not the easiest thing then.
My mothers smile and leave, letting me think. Then, bits of my day come back in flashes. Sapnap sitting down on the bus, seeing Quackity again- and it clicks.

Now I just have to tell them.

QUACKITY POV:

I drop my bag down and fly upstairs to my room. I look in the mirror. The orange hand print on my face has turned an opaque shimmery colour.

I open my laptop and google what it means. When the answer comes up I freeze. I pull my collar down, and the purple has done the same thing. Great.

How do I tell my best friends they might be my soulmates?
