SAPNAP POV:
The bell rings. I rush out and see my friends hovering around our lockers.
"Lunch?" I ask.
They nod.
"Let's go then,"
We all head out the corridor and towards the main door. When we reach the reception, we sign out and Karl starts to talk.
"Hey, can I stay out for 5th period? With a few friends, just 2, I promise we'll be back before 6th,"
The lady nods.
"I'll write it for you. Which 2?"
"Sapnap and Quackity,"
She nods. "Have a nice lunch,"
When we walk out, Dream puts a hand over his chest.
"How could you choose them over us?"
Karl giggles.
"It's simple. I like them more,"
Dream gasps, and I feel a blush creeping up my face. I cough and turn away, trying to hide it.
We walk past the gates and turn left. We know the way to Sally's with our eyes closed.
When we walk in, we slide into our usual booth and Sally walks over.
"Hello boys, what can I get you?"
"Um, water for me please," George says.
"Coke," Dream says
"Pepsi," I reply, glaring at Dream.
"Uh," Quackity looks between us. "Water for me,"
Karl look at Sally.
"Do you have any Monsters?"
"No!" We all say.
He sighs.
"Fine. Water for me,"
Sally smiles and walks off.
"You know, I don't know what people see in her," George says.
"Gay," Dream coughs.
"I am not gay," George says. "Ok, you guys, rate her, lookswise,"
"2," Quackity says.
"4," Karl says.
"Eh, 6," Dream remarks
"C'mon dude, she's easily an 8," I scoff.
George frowns at us, as a new waiter walks over with our drinks.
"Thanks," we say.
"Food ideas?" He asks
We tell him what we want, and he walks off. We start talking and soon enough our food arrives. We eat, laughing and talking.
"Hey George, pass me the salt," Dream asks.
George passes it over, and freezes. He looks at his hand, then shoves it into his pocket.
I grin, realising what happened. No one else did, so I won't say a thing.
I check my watch.
"You guys should hurry up. You have like 15 minutes,"
"Ah damn," Dream says.
I get up.
"Lunch is on me,"
I go over to the till and pay. When I get back they've all finished.
"Let's go,"
We head out, and stop outside the school. We say goodbye, and Dream and George head back in the school. I face Karl.
"Where to now Captain?"
He grins and leads us towards the park. We walk there in a comfortable silence, and head to the playground. We sit on the monkey bars, Karl dangling upside down, me sat on top and Quackity beneath on the ground. Karl opened his mouth as if to speak, but says nothing. We sit there together, when Quackity says something.
"We should head back now,"
Karl looks defeated and drops down. We head back to school and start up a conversation.
We reach the front door.
"I'm gonna go meet George and Dream, go the park later?"
"Sure, I can text my mom not to pick me up,"
Quackity nods.
"I'll wait outside,"
I wave goodbye, and walk off to the library. Something was off earlier, when we were at the park. I feel like Karl and Quackity both wanted to say something, but didn't. I wonder what they wanted to say.
As I pull my bag up on my back, I notice my hand has gone shimmery. I roll my sleeve up, and sure enough, the purple has gone shimmery too. I shrug it off. I met a ton of people yesterday, it's not unlikely I met them.
I wander over to the library and walk in. Dream waves and I walk over to their table. I drop my bag on to the table and slump down.
"Well?" George asks.
I shake my head. Dream makes a sympathetic face, but I stare off into the distance.

I walk out the school and see the boys waiting outside. I head over to them and we walk off. This time as we head to the park, we actually start a conversation. When we got there, we repeated our actions from lunch, sitting down. This time, I stay standing, eye level with Karl.
He clears his throat.
"So, um, you know, soulmates, huh?"
I nod.
"Well, I kinda think I found mine,"
"Both?" I ask.
He nods. Quackity is paying attention now.
Karl's face is bright red.
"I think... it's someone in our class,"
He takes a deep breath.
"I think... it's one of our friends,"
I feel a wave of sadness.
"I think..."
He coughs before continuing.
"I think it's you guys,"
I stare at him. He pulls himself up and starts to leave before Quackity stops him.
"I do too,"
Quackity grabs my hand, and I notice the blue fading away.
I roll my sleeve up and, confirming it, the purple is fading too.
"I- love you guys,"
We pull each other into a tight hug and stay, stuck together. When we pull apart, Karl jumps back on the monkey bars. I laugh, on some sort of happiness high.
I move forward and kiss him.
Quackity gasps.
"My turn,"
I lean down and kiss him too.
My soulmates.

KARL POV:
I slam the front door open.
"Mom! Ma! I'm home, where are you,"
"Here," they call and I rush into the living room.
"You look frazzled," Mom points out.
"Never mind that, I need to talk to you," I reply hastily.
"No. Karl, you said you were going to the park. For a bit. Karl, it's nearly seven, why didn't you text us?" Ma says, frowning.
"Because something big came up and I forgot-"
"You're not doing that again Karl. We trusted you," she says.
"Oh let him speak," Mom says, swatting her.
"Thank you. I found them,"
"What? Karl, that's great! Who is it? Bring them here!"
My moms look excited, and I grin madly.
They sit up and hug me. I hug them back, bouncing on my feet.
"And I was right! It's- no, you gotta guess," I laugh.
My moms frown, and start chucking names at me.
"What? No, Sapnap and Quackity,"
They pause.
"Oh,"
I laugh and rush upstairs.
I fling my bag down and pull out my phone, rapidly tapping till I have a new group chat set up, the 3 of us.
I fire off a text.
I love you
