DREAM POV:
We reach Sally's and slide into a booth, our usual one taken. I slump onto the table and rest my head on my arms. Karl says something, but I can barely hear over my pounding headache.
"Dream! You ok?" George says, right in my ear.
"Ouch! Didn't need to be so loud. Just a small headache, that's all," I say.
Karl raises an eyebrow. "Ok then. As I was saying, I'm just gonna get a smoothie, what do you guys want?"
Everyone requests something, and I ask for a smoothie too. Karl gets up and heads to the counter.
"So, I hear you and George are together now?" Quackity says.
I choke.
"WHAT?" I say. I look at George, who just laughs. I sigh and run a hand through my hair.
"Where the-" I stop myself, seeing our neighbour's little kid right next to our table. I lower my voice.
"Where did you find that out?"
After George and I came downstairs, about half the people had left.
"Well, you disappeared, they got bored," Sapnap had said.
"Not really. Their parents wanted them home," Bad corrected.
Back in the present, Quackity laughs.
"Gossip spreads like wildfire," he jokes. I groan, and bury my head back in my arms. I can't be bothered with him right now.
A second later, Karl drops back in his seat.
"Ordered, and Sally said she'll bring down some Advil for you Dream,"
"Dude, it's fine," I say, wincing.
"Dream," George frowns at me. "We know you, if you actually had a small headache, you'd say you were fine,"
"I have to give you lot that," I grin. Sally walks over soon, and drops the tablets on the table.
"I'll get you some water 'kay?" She says. "Also, why wasn't I invited?" She says, mocking hurt.
"I presumed you wouldn't want to hang out with a bunch of kids," I return with a grin. She laughs, and walks back to the counter.
~~timeskip~~
I stand up. I slide out the booth, and let everyone else stand up.
"See you all on Monday?" I ask.
They all nod, and I head out. While it was great seeing my friends, I really just want to sleep for the rest of the weekend. A few sconds later, someone falls into step next to me.
"Hey," George grins. I smile back. He links his fingers with mine, and I squeeze his hand.
"I'm getting a lift, you want one?" He asks. I mumble something about being fine.
"Dream, you look like you're about to fall asleep standing. You're getting a lift, even if I have to drag you in the car,"
I laugh. I must look terrible. We walk along, laughing and chatting, when a grey car pulls up. George drags me toward it and shoves me in backseat.
"Hey! Can we give Dream a lift?" George says, slipping in and shutting the car door. His dad turns around and looks at me.
"Sure," he says, turning to the road. The car jerks into motion, and I let my head tilt back. I watch the houses flick by and soon enough, we pull up at my house.
"Thanks for the lift! Bye," I say, clambering out. The car doesn't leave until I shut the front door. I chuck my keys on the small table by the door, and push myself up the stairs. I flop onto my bed and stare at the ceiling. My eyesight blurs and I slip into a deep sleep.
When I open my eyes, the sky outside is a dusky pink. I pick up my phone and squint at the bright screen assaults my eyes. I see a message and open and see it's from George. I text him back.
You got in alright?
Yeah. Can you talk?
I stare at my screen. Seconds later, I see a bubble pop up.
Sure
I smile at the screen. I press the call button, deciding against facetime.
"Heey," he teases after picking up.
"Hey," I grin.
"Serious question. Did you sleep?" He says, and I can here the frown in his voice.
"Yeah, of course. I don't like feeling like shit Gogy," I say jokingly.
He laughs, and even down the tinny phone line, it makes my stomach flutter.
We talk mindlessly till the sky is dark.
"Dream?"
"Mmm," I say.
"Promise me you'll sleep tonight, 'kay?"
"What are you, my mother?" I say, annoyed.
"Wow, ok, sorry, just thought because of yesterday... you know what, nevermind. I've got to go," he says, sounded empty.
"Wait! No, George!"
He hangs up. I let my phone fall limply to my side. Why do I mess everything up?
GEORGE POV:
I hang up, hurt. I shouldn't have said that, he was right. I call a goodnight to my parents, and stick my phone on charge. I might as well try to sleep, what with how that conversation ended, I'd be a hypocrite.
I sigh. Why do I mess everything up?

Slightly shorter, but parallels are always cool. Exam week this week and next week, so I won't be able to do daily chapters as per usual
