NIKI POV:

I rush over to my phone and pick it up, trying to quieten the ringing.

"Wilbur! It's 5 in the morning, my parents are asleep," She hisses.

"Niki! I'm sorry, but guess what!" He laughs.

"What?" I laugh back, his cheer infecting me.

"I got my mark!"

"Seriously? Yes!" I smile.

"I know! It's, uh-" I hear him moving around.

"Well?" I say impatiently.

"Yes! It's a splotch on the small of my back, I can't see the colour right now, it's too dark,"

"Where are you?"

"The bathroom?"

"Why don't you turn the light on?" I giggle.

"The fan is loud, and Techno would kill me if I woke everyone up. You know how he and Tommy get if they wake up early,"

I laugh, before hushing myself.

"This is great! And just in time as well, you turn 18 in a couple months,"

"Yeah. Wait. Shit. I forgot about that,"

"Wilbur! Have you got anything planned?"

"Don't know. I'll ask Dad in the morning. But I kind of want to wait till Mum comes back from her work trip before we do stuff,"

"Oh. When's she coming back?"

"Soon, hopefully," He says sadly.

"Mm,"

We sit in silence for a bit.

"I'll see you at school Wil, I can hear my parents getting up,"

"Yeah, ok! Bye!"

I end the call. I'm so happy for him! He was so worried he wouldn't have a soulmate. Of course, he didn't say anything, but I could tell.

"Wilbur!" I rush over to him.

"Niki!"

I hug him excitedly.

"Did you tell them?"

"Of course! And we got a perfectly timed message- Mumza will be back the week before my birthday!"

"Yes! Party is on then?"

He nods excitedly.

"Wilbur, come on. We need to get to class," Techno grunts, dragging him away. I wave to him, and head over to my friends.

"Hey!" I grin, linking hands with Puffy.

"Hey Niki," Minx says.

"What did Wilbur want?" Hannah asks.

"Oh, uh... I don't know if I should say, sorry," I apologise.

"That's ok,"
