QUACKITY POV:

I walk through the empty hallways, and stop at my locker. I grab out my textbooks and shove them in my bag. I check my watch and slam my locker shut. When I walk into our homeroom, everyone stares.

"Did you get a late mark Quackity?" The teacher asks. I shake my head and sit down  at the back of the room.

"Ok, you can all chat now, back row, catch your friend up,"

They all turn and face me, Dream leaning his chair back.

"Where were you? School started 15 minutes ago," George asks.

I shake my head, and they understand. "Oh, by the way, the school just wanted to bring up the sign we saw at the park. Apparently students here have been seen there," Karl says. When Dream, George and Sapnap start their own conversation, Karl faces me.

"Look, Quackity, it probably wasn't him, ok? He left town 2 years ago, it might just be people like him,"

I take a deep breath. I've been saying that all night, but the image of him floats in my head.

"Karl- I- I know, but I can't get the idea out my head. That's exactly what he- we used to do," I say, my voice hoarse.

He looks at me sympathetically, and exhales.

"Have you not got anyone to talk to this about? Didn't the school counselor say something?"

"I know, but I went like twice? If I just randomly show up... it would be weird," I sigh.

"I'll come then. Quackity, that was 2 years ago, it'll be fine," he reassures me. Ok, maybe it wouldn't hurt. Schlatt was bad, and the counselor knows that.

"Ok, get going kiddos!" The teacher intrupts. Just as they finish speaking, the bell rings, and we hurry out of class.

~~timeskip~~

I glance at the clock. I hate doubles. There's a knock at the door. We all look up to see who's there.

"Hi, can I see Quackity? I'm not sure how long I'll need him, so bring your stuff," The counselor directs the last bit at me. As I sweep my stuff into my bag, I shoot Karl a glance, and we have a telepathic talk. I sigh, and exit the room.

"So, Quackity, sorry to take you out your lesson. How are you?" The counselor asks. I haven't been in her office for years. It's changed from my memory. It has more cards, and candles. She's added more plants, and there's now a small mirror in the corner.

"Uh, I'm chill," I answer, avoiding her gaze.

"Ok. So, big year this year huh? Soulmates, final year of school, how are you finding that?"

"I haven't thought about graduation really. I think I might stay local for college, but law kind of intrests me. And, second week of the semester and I've found my soulmates,"

"Oh, that's fabulous. Now, the reason I brought you here. So, the school informed me of the park situation, and I thought of you. Your ex used to do that sort of thing, didn't he?"

I nod.

"As I thought. I'm well aware we haven't talked in a while, but the impact he would have had on a 15 year old... well, I wanted to check up on you,"

"Thanks, but I'd rather not talk about it," I say, staring out the window.

"Well I assume you don't want to go back to class either, and I'm free till after break, so why don't you just talk about anything?" She asks.

I consider. She was right, I don't want to go back. But what could we talk about?

"Well, I already knew about the park notice, because me and my friends went there yesterday. We played hide n seek in the woods. It was fun, except for when I fell out a tree,"

She chuckles. "Ouch,"

"Yeah. I didn't break anything, except my necklace. But I don't care, the clasp is fixable," I say, fiddling with it.

"He got me a necklace once," I remark. "He laughed at me when I wore it though. Called me a girl," I bite the insides of my cheeks.
"He did that a lot,"

"What, laugh at things?" She asks, surprised at me.

"No. Laughed at me. Insulted me. Course, I didn't know it was bad. You can't see the red flags when they've covered your eyes,"

She scribbles something down, and I clam up again. What had I been thinking?

"I'm having a sleepover this weekend," I say, changing the topic.

"Oh really? With who?" Ms Moore asks.

"My friends. It's Karl's birthday, so his mom's set it up for him,"

"Oh, tell him happy birthday from me,"

The conversation stops again. I don't like the silence.

"Quackity, are you sure you don't want to talk?"

I take a deep breath. And another.

"It scares me. He still scares me too," I say, quietly.

"That's natural. You were in an abusive relationship very young, it would be weirder if you weren't,"

I cough. We sit in silence, the air between us clearer now.

"Do you know anything about him now?" She asks.

"No. We broke up after he somehow graduated, and he blocked me on everything," I respond.
She nods.
"You were very brave ending it,"

I laugh. "I couldn't have done it on my own. My friends helped so so much. See, that was the difference. He didn't care about anybody. It was strange how he'd distance himself,"

"Yes, I noticed that too," Ms Moore agrees. "So, you have my attention for another ten minutes. Then you're free to go. What do you want to talk about?"

"Can I talk about my friends?" I ask. I love my friends more than anything, and would do anything for them.

"Of course! And don't forget you can pop round here before 9 any day, and we can talk then or arrange a session,"

I nod. I probably won't come back. "So, I found my soulmates. It was like, the second day back? I'd been away most of the summer, and didn't see them. So, it was quite clear it was them,"

"And, uh, if you want to answer, who are they?"

"Karl and Sapnap. It was strange at first, because they've been my best friends for years, but then again, I'd rather it was someone who knew me than a stranger,"

She laughs. I talk about them for 10 minutes. Little things they do, their style, anything and everything. By the time it's break, Ms Moore knew pretty much all about them.

"Oh, look at the time! I hope I see you again Quackity, it was great,"

I say goodbye, and leave. I walk to our spot and see my friends already there. I push away all thoughts of him and walk over. I won't let Schlatt ruin my day.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, this might not be clear, but essentially, Schlatt was 18 and Quackity was 15 when they got together. Schlatt was abusive, physically and mentally, and got Quackity drug obsessed. Quackity isn't any more, but it took a while for the cravings to go away.
And also, there will be a proper bit on this later, the idea just wormed it's way into my head
