Hidan woke up first, he wanted to go back to sleep but his mind was wide awake and ready to start the day. His finger tips brushed against the patchy grass and dirt that was beside him, he couldn't feel much of anything. He pressed down on the dirt with numb hands, lifting his heavier then normal body of the ground. His tired eyes, opened halfway and lazily drifted to his scythe, that had gotten wet from due drops. Next the drossy magenta orbs moved to the buck a quarter of its meat already eaten. It was only then that he noticed how foggy it was and how wet he had gotten. The fog wasn't the heaviest he's been in before but it did make it hard to see.
He moved to a squatting position, his legs had pins in needles. He stood and slowly made his way over to the corpse and half heartedly kicked it, moving the body slightly, revealing that it was already infested with maggots. He cringed at the sight, remembering the taste and pain such small creatures gave. Due to the heat of the acid the maggots produced, the body wasn't as wet other then its fur witch had gotten matted. After cringing again, he looked away at what little of the damp landscape he could. Everything was covered in a thick white sheet, if anything in the distance did show it was a varying shades of grey depending on how far away or how close it was.
He looked up at the sky and felt his drenched hair hit the back of his neck with a wet slapping sound. Water slipped down his back but he barely felt it due to 85% of his body was already soaking wet. 'Fuck!' He thought zipping up his sweater and wrapped it tighter around him. "I'm soaked." He growled. He continued to mutter his complaints as Kakuzu woke up. "What are you bitching at now?" He asked as he sat up, an annoyed expression rested on his face. "I'm fucking drenched, you goddam asshole!" The sliver haired man explained, turning his head around with a glare.
The older man stood up and walked over to him. He looked at the bucks corpse and decided it would be best to leave it and not try to find anything that could be salvageable. Then he grabbed the shorters arm and walked in the opposite direction of the village. "Whatever." He said, continuing to drag Hidan behind him while ignoring the many protests of doing so. "Let's get going, time is not in our favor."
The air around them was wet. The fog became more dense making it harder for the two men to see. The distant grays became consumed the thick white that would surround anything in its reach. The ground was wet and slippery, littered with bugs and empty spiderweb covered in drops of water. A few screams of birds were heard from ahead. The forest itself seemed never ending, almost maze like. It's long trees often branched out and they're roots had failed to hide themselves, showing there face above the ground. Rocks also were everywhere ranging from sharp to slippery. Other than a few birds every now and again or the footsteps of the two made, the woods was quite. The forest became more and more unwelcoming the deeper they went, as if it knew who they were and what they did to get there but it was only just a forest, however someone fallowed them a little after they woke up and unlike the forest, they knew what the two had done.
"You can let the fuck go of me know!" Hidan yelled, deciding to break the silence he was barely paying attention to. Kakuzu said nothing but dropped his hand, that lazily flopped to the shorter man's side. Things went back to silence though now there was buildings ahead the two had found another village.
"Keep your mouth shut." Kakuzu muttered, Hidan gave a quick nod as he fallowed the older into the village. Random children were in the streets enjoying the fun of the fog, playing a round of hide and go seek. Some of the kids noticed the two men when they past by but didn't care or didn't think about it much and just went back to playing with their friends. As the criminals walked away the laughter of the small children became more and more muffled. Soon their voices were no longer heard until one of the kids yelled about liking someone's purple skirt. The chance of it being Ino was low but it was still a chance they weren't willing to take, the two changed detection and ran down a few blocks and found themselves at a small shack.
It had been abandoned and its age had shown, the boards that held it up had began to fall apart do tue the years of water damages and had began tilting to its side. The roof was in decent shape but look as if it wanted to collapse. It's poor and unappealing quality made them certain it's cover wouldn't last but any it could pervade was useful. The sound of footsteps began to echo form down the corner. The fog made it hard to see who was creating the noise but if the two couldn't see who it was, they couldn't see the two. Kakuzu pushed Hidan in to the shack. "What the fuc-" Was all the the younger man could get out before Kakuzu's hand covered his mouth. "Shut the fuck up, Hidan." He whisper yelled, while releasing the man's mouth. Hidan nodded, rolled his eyes and sat on the dirty and rotting floor, his gasped at how much the floor gave way to his body. It felt more like mud then wood. The wood didn't even creek as he sat instead it made a slushy noise. He cringed at the unusual and gross sounding noise but he tried to forget about it as while as the water now soaking in his pants.
