The rabbit was slightly under cooked and didn't taste the the best but neither one of them cared. They had a long ways ahead of them so it just didn't matter. Over the past few days Hidan became a lot quicker when he ate even larger meals. His stomach stopped hurting when he ate. He felt much better. "Thank you, Kakuzu." Hidan said, catching Kakuzu off guard for a moment. "No problem, now eat up, we need to go." Hidan nodded and finished the last piece of the animal.
Hidan bit his lip. "Kakuzu. I think... I think we're being fallowed." He whispered. "Are you being fucking serious?" Kakuzu's eyes widened. Hidan nodded with a serious look on his face. "I heard some mother fucker earlier." Hidan said slightly louder but it was still hushed, as if he was talking to a sleepy child. Kakuzu groaned and punch the ground, of course they were being fallowed. "Why the fuck didn't you tell me?" Kakuzu growled. "I-I don't fucking know. Get off my dick!" "Stop yelling. If we're being fallowed, we need to take a different root to the village." "Kakuzu do you think it that shadow bustard? Do you think he'll bury me again?" Hidan asked panicking. Kakuzu wrapped his arm around the younger's shoulders, calming him right back down. "No. Even if he's stupid enough to try I won't let him." Hidan smiled and leaned on Kakuzu's shoulder.
Kakuzu stood up, holding Hidan's hand. "Well we better get going." Hidan stood as well, the two began walking through the large grass plane. The tall grass made their ankles itch and the fear of getting caught make them anxious. It got colder as the sky darkened, witch affected Kakuzu's sight. If they stopped now they'd be out in the open but it was dangerous too continue, it was a lose:lose situation. "There was no safe way of doing this." Kakuzu groaned under his breath pinching the bridge of his nose. "What did you say?" Hidan asked, tilting his head and placed his finger on his bottom lip, Kakuzu always found that force of habit cute. He never meant to do that but he always did, he never attempted to stop it since there was no real reason to break it. Kakuzu smiled, feeling much more relaxed. "I didn't say anything." Hidan pouted. "You never tell me anything, you fucking old man." He complained. "Come on why the hell won't you tell me!" He whined, shoving his hand in his pocket. Kakuzu smiled happy that Hidan was returning to his old self.
The two walked for a few more hours until it was too dark to see. Kakuzu let out a growl as he sat down. He yanked Hidan down on his lap, and wrapped his arms around him by his waist, sticking him to the spot. Hidan felt comfortable, being held and protected by his lover. "Kakuzu? Do you know where the fuck we're going? Do we have a permanent place to stay?" Hidan questioned, then yawned, he was tired and Kakuzu was warm, he closed his eyes while he leaned his cheek on his partners broad chest. "Not really. Just go sleep." He whispered. Hidan nodded as another yawn escaped his lips. He listened to Kakuzu's heartbeat and let out a satisfied sigh.
Kakuzu soon heard Hidan's soft snoring, it sounded more like quiet panting. His hand slide up Hidan's clothed back to his head, pulling the hood down and played with Hidan's thick, silky, sliver hair, he brushed through it, untangling the occasional small knot, without waking the smaller up. "His hair is pretty long." He mumbled to himself, he already knew this but he wanted to say something to keep himself awake. Hidan's body was warm witch was a good sign that he was becoming more heathy. Kakuzu's eyes soon adjusted to the unknowing void of night, he looked down at Hidan. His skin started to tan, the rot had completely vanished, and his ribs were finally hidden in his body, out of sight. Though he was still blind but he most definitely was getting better. "He's healing alright. I wonder how long it will take until his able to see again." His voice was hushed as he adjusted Hidan's position, moving him in a somewhat cradle like hold, so it was much more comfortable for both of them. Kakuzu watched the albino sleep, his chest rose and fell as he breathed, his broken eyes hidden behind his pale eyelids. Hidan twitched well mumbling before he snuggled back into his lovers chest, still muttering about his dreams. Kakuzu couldn't hid back a smirk as he pushed back the hair that covered his face and gently placed a kiss on his forehead.
A crunching sound was heard, Kakuzu his head snapped to the side, trying to see the origin of the noise, a deer stood still, watching them with large scared eyes that shined yellow and white in the moons dim glow. Him and the wild animal stared at each over. 'Is it one of Shikamaru's or is it just a wild deer?' He questioned in his head as he started at the stalking creature. Their eyes were never town apart, until Hidan unconsciously squirmed in his sleep, the deer's tail shot up and it ran away as fast as it could go. Kakuzu couldn't tell if it running away was a good thing or was a horrible thing, if it was one of Nara's this could get real bad. A larger wave of anxiety washed over him as he stared off into the darkness in the deracination the deer ran. He held Hidan tighter, pushing him closer to his chest as if that would be enough to keep him from the dangerous world, that wanted to hurt them, though it had good reason to want to. Kakuzu finally managed to peel his eyes away from the emptiness beside them and looked down at Hidan, who was still resting, squished in between his arms and torso, mumbling away. 'Why fucking now?' He thought while he laid back on the long grass, Hidan sleeping on top of him, his hair framed Kakuzu's side and spread out along the grass, reaching along the fields green blades. The moon and stars weak light couldn't protect them from the shadows so it was best to literally lay low, out of sight.
A few birds flew over them, one let out a loud, mighty scream, making Hidan frown and twitch, he was waking up. Kakuzu rubbed his shoulder and quickly whispered sweet nothings to help him stay asleep. Hidan stopped squirming as his face relaxed back into into calmness. It was a rare moment, Hidan normally talk or move in some way, he always seemed to have some sort of energy, even when he first regained full conciseness he seemed to have it, now he was calm, the only noise he made he made was the occasional hushed mumble, his energy was recharging so he had to be still. Other than the two the field seemed to be unoccupied, the deer was now most likely to far gone to find again. He felt tired but fought against his urge to sleep they did have a long way to go and it was a bad idea to let there guard down.
