"If you follow me, there is the grill. Which you probably won't be doing much-"

Chans phone cut her off from talking, the familiar ringtone saying that it was jeongin calling.

"Can I have a few minutes, it's important,"

Lara nodded and stepped away to help a few customers who had come in. The blonde pulled put his phone and looked at the caller ID even if he didn't need too.

Upon answering it, he could hear jeongin yelling through the speaker feeling panicked.

"Jeongin? Are you okay?"

"Oh, you know just about to binge watch "How to get away with murder" and learn how to discreetly kill my parents.."

"Why would you do that?"

Jeongin was quiet for a moment before small sniffles came through the phone.

"Because it's gone hyung.. They sold my piano,"

To say that jeongin was emotionally attached to that piano was an understatement. He grew up with that instrument, having played it when he was sad and when he was happy. Just about every emotion he felt, he played that piano to cope with it. That thing was by his side, drowning out the sounds of his parents arguing when they got into rough spots of their marriage. It was there to drown out the sound of his crying when he had a rough day. There to smile with him through the notes when he was happy.

"Jeongin, we'll figure it out.. I'll get you another one when I get enough money and after I pay your parents back,"

"It's not the same, hyung!" Jeongin cried out "I've had that piano from when I was six. I grew up with that thing there's no "just get another one""

"Well, if you talk to your parents maybe they'll tell you who bought it and we can buy it back," Chan tried to calm him down feeling sad he wasn't there to help.

"They won't tell me.. I know they wont," A small pause came from jeongins side and he groaned out, tears filling his voice "fucking dammit, they took the violin too?!"

"Jeongin, just try to calm down I'll be home soon-"

"I can't calm down.. You're not here, channie,"

Jeongin found a comfort when Chan was there, a type of consolation and a relief from stress when the older was around. It helped him calm down to feel those arms around him, just holding him in a safe place just for a few short moments of his day.

"I'll be home in about an hour, okay?"

"Okay, I'm gonna go see where my parents went... I'll try not to pounce too hard," Jeongin joked after sniffling for a second.

"Okay, when I get back to town I'll pick you up and we'll go to my house and eat ice cream,"

"I'll look forward to it, I love you"

"I love you too, bye"

Empty promises.

That's what Chan had made for jeongin, the boy quickly finding out when an hour and forty five minutes went by and not a word from the older. He figured that it was just a mistake and he got caught up helping the cafe or it was just taking longer than expected.

He'll be here soon, jeongin

The boy sat all freshly showered and dressed with a bag of clean clothes waiting for Chan.

He watched the television which played some stupid movie he didn't even care to see.

Jeongin checked the time every few moments to see how long had past.

It wasn't until two and a half hours past that jeongin finally gave up. He texted Chan a little frustrated that he didn't say anything to him. Of course it would have been perfectly fine if he told him he was running late but there was no such thing.

Innie:

I think I'll just spend the
night here tonight

Delivered at 6:07 PM

Jeongin put his phone in his pocket and turned the TV off and headed upstairs to his room. He didn't even care if Chan texted him back or not. He was angry and his anger was justified.
J

eongin couldn't help but feeling like some things he said was a lie. He couldn't help but think that even with every promise they made it was bound to get broken.

Jeongin fell onto his bed, feeling like he was a bit betrayed.

How could he not? It was like he had been stood up, Chan just bailing out on him.

It wasn't long before the boy fell asleep, not having any company to keep him awake.

There wasn't even so much of a notification or buzz of his phone in the time he was out.

Waking up to find just that was pissing him off even more. The moonlight shined through his room as he sat up, eleven o'clock showing on his lock screen. There was no way that Chan was still at the cafe.

Jeongins mind ran circles trying to think about where he was...

He wondered if Chan got hurt or in a car accident on the way home and it began to scare him. Even if he was mad he didn't want him to get hurt.

But oh, boy if he knew where Chan was right now he'd for sure be livid. Knowing that he got stood up for that? It would be heart crushing to say the least.

All jeongin could hope for was Chan to pick him up tomorrow and they'd hang out.

The brunette ended up staying awake all night waiting for a message that never came because Chan was somewhere being an asshole.

Any guesses as to where the little shit went? 👀
