Jeongin woke up the next morning to a wet kiss being placed on his forehead.
His eyes fluttered open to see Chan making his way towards the door with all of his things in his hands.
"You're leaving..?"
Though the room was still somewhat dark jeongin could see Chan turn around and look at him. He had tried to get out of the house without waking him up because he was sure he was exhausted.
"Yeah.." He said lowly "it's my first day at work today.."
Even though Chan had said goodbye, jeongin couldn't help but feel like this was a booty call. He couldn't help but feel like they just spent the night together and the older was leaving because he didn't want to be here anymore, trying to leave without jeongin knowing.
"Oh," He replied softly "what time do you get off?"
Jeongin sat up on the bed and rubbed the sleep and hair from his eyes.
"I think six... But there's a party after for all the newcomers."
"So you won't be able to hangout then later?"
"Maybe late tonight," Chan said softly "I'm sorry, baby"
"It's okay.. Just have a good day, okay?"
The blonde walked up to the younger and leaned down, kissing him softly before pulling away.
"I love you,"
"I love you too,"
With that, Chan walked out of the room and down the stairs as quietly as he could, sneaking out the door undetected by his parents.
Jeongin ended up sleeping for a few more hours before finally rolling out of bed and trudging down stairs. Stumbling down the last few steps, he flopped onto the couch and laid there for a moment before opening his eyes
The living room was empty which was odd since normally his parents would be out there with their breakfasts.
The house was quiet other than the slight hum of the cooler.
Jeongin sighed, a part of him feeling empty and alone. It made him so sad that Chan just left him this morning. Of course the boy knew that he had other commitments other than him but wasn't he supposed to be the first one? Wasn't he supposed to be one of the priorities? Shaking his head, he felt selfish for thinking such a thing. Technically they weren't even together. They hadn't ever made anything official so really, Chan owed him nothing. Chan didn't have to come home to him every night and be with him. Sure they'd made promises but there wasn't any real commitment and it showed so well in their relationship.
It showed in the way that Chan thought it was okay to lie to him. Jeongin was trying so hard to keep them okay and together but it seemed like his efforts were pointless in the way that the other just did whatever he wanted.
While laying there, jeongin checked his phone for notifications and decided to message jisung to see if him and Minho wanted to come over.
They messaged back quickly that they'd be over in an hour so jeongin ran up the stairs and decided to get dressed. He decided on a pair of jeans and a plain white T-shirt.
A knock sounded from downstairs and yelling as the boys let themselves inside. They walked into jeongins room as he put his shirt over his head blushing as Minho jisung and hyunjin saw him shirtless.
"Damn innie," Jisung walked up to him with a giggle and tried to peak down his shirt "have you been working out?"
"N-no..," He blushed even more and moved over to hyunjin, hugging him with a smile "I didn't think you were coming but I'm glad you did, hyung!"
"It's good to see you jeongin," The blonde said hugging him back tightly.
Though the two hadn't seen each other more than a few times, they'd both been through so much with the same boys that it was hard to not be somewhat close already.
Jisung went to sit on the bed and paused when jeongin protested.
"Let's go sit in the living room!"
"Why? What are you hiding?" Jisung asked teasingly, lifting the sheets and finding slight stains on the sheets "you and Chan had-"
"Don't you dare!" Jisung clasped a hand over his mouth to shut him up.
They didn't change the sheets after they got out of the bath from just simply being to tired to. They slept on top of the duvet with other blankets from the closet.
"Downstairs ji.. And please don't tease me,"
"so you two must be on good terms then?" Minho asked walking down the stairs followed by everyone else.
Were they?
"I don't know.." Jeongin said honestly
"What do you mean?" Hyunjin asked as they all sat on the couch, the blonde by jeongin and the couple beside each other on a different couch.
"He's been weird lately... I don't know how to put it. The other night, he left me alone at his house while I was asleep and left me a note saying he had a work thing, which I totally get and he said he'd be back soon. I went home and waited for him but he never showed up,"
"He was out all night?" Jisung asked, skeptically
"Yeah he said he was at hyunjins..." He glanced over at the blonde boy who nodded a bit "but he lied. He went out drinking with this girl and her friends. And last night, before everything we laid there like an old unhappy couple and didn't even hug each other until I said something. After we did- that, we went to bed and he was just going to leave this morning without waking me up and he said he won't be back until late tonight,"
Jeongin didn't know how bad it hurt until he said it all out loud. The blunt of it all smacking him in the face like a brick.
"Do you think he's cheating?" Minho asked softly, honestly a bit pissed that Chan was acting like this again.
"I don't know," The youngest whispered honestly.
Hyunjin patted his back knowing full and well how much this hurt. This was what Chan was good at, hurting people. It was what he knew for most of his life. Hyunjin being one of his victims and jeongin falling to him too. Even if hyunjin had mocked chan for cheating he didn't know for sure but he had his suspicions.
"I'll talk to him, jeongin. If he doesn't straighten out, I'll beat some sense into him myself," Minho threatened.
Even if the blonde was his friend, Minho knew right from wrong so he wasn't going to side with him. Chan had to know when he was fucking up or he wouldn't see and understand it. He had no guidance to recognize the signs especially having Changbin as a "legal guardian" that only supplied him with alcohol and nicotine addiction.
Jeongin just nodded, glad he had three amazing friends here with him.
