"How was work? " jeongin asked as he leaned against the counter while looking up at chan.

He looked rather tired, like he hadn't slept in a while and it made the boy worry. Chan didn't sleep much to begin with so now it was even scarier since he might be over working himself.

"It was fine," the black haired boy said in return "we were quite busy but I made a lot in tips"

He pulled a short stack of bills from his pocket and showed jeongin.

"How much?"

"About sixty, give or take some"

The boys were drawn out of their conversation by the four others getting into a rather loud conversation.

".. You guys this is boring," minho whined loudly

"Then suggest something to do" changbin said as he looked up from his phone

The boy had been rather quiet, only looking up a few times to join the conversation when it interested him.

"Should we play just dance again?" Jeongin asked

Changbin looked up with his eyes gleaming in interest

"Uh, hell yes we should!" He jumped off the counter and looked at everyone with squinted eyes "be prepared to lose,"

"Yeah, I'll beat you any day of the week," hyunjin said as they all began to move into the living room.

They'd all agreed pretty quickly since the last time they'd played they had so much fun. That was up until jeongins parents called since he was late for cerfew.

Jeongins parent had been pretty laid back regarding his cerfew lately. More like they didn't have any say so since they hadn't been home in a while. It had been a relief really, it gave him time to think. However that was a good and bad thing since he tended to over think even more than he usually did. Those moments alone gave him time to think about why chan had lied to him before or why he was never home when he said he would be.
The boy's thoughts would generally contradict themselves by debating back and forth. One part of him wanted to believe the other and think that he was being faithful and wasn't lying but another part of him believed the opposite. Lately, he'd just decided to stop thinking about it and leave it be for the time being.

"Jeongin!" Jisung said as he jumped on the boy who was now sitting on the couch beside chan lost in thought "what are you thinking about?"

".. About what song I want to dance first,"

"That looked like hard thinking," jisung said, cuddling his body into the other, leaning his head on his shoulder "we should do one of our songs"

"Like which one?"

Chan suddenly leaned over to jeongin and pecked up his jaw line and whispered in his ear

"I'm gonna step outside.. You wanna come with?" The smile was evident in his voice by the playful tone it held.

Chan was happy that he wasn't working anymore. His legs ached and he was tired of standing all day.

"Sure," jeongin looked over with a braced smile

"Fine," jisung stood with a small pout and headed over to bother minho by climbing in his lap the same way.

Jeongin and Chan both stood with the older grabbing the youngers hand as they walked. They both stepped out the back door into jisungs back yard which was very familiar to jeongin.

Said boy was pulled into Chan's lap as the boy pulled out his vape and set it on the table

"I missed you," jeongin said, sounding both tired and relieved.

"I missed you too, innie"

"You smell like food and it's making me hungry," the younger laughed a little as he snuggled his face into his neck.

"Did you not eat?" Chan took a drag from the device sitting on the table and blew it out.

"I ate a few chips that hyunjin brought but nothing else really"

"We'll get you something okay?"

"Okay.."

The air was filled with a comfortable silence for a few moments before jeongin spoke

"I miss you.." He whispered

It seemed that he was missing many people he was close with lately. One thing, however stuck out to the black haired boy, the way that sentence was put into present tense.

"I'm right here" chan said as he pulled back from the lazy embrace they were in "I'm always right here, you know that"

"I know.." The younger said as he looked down at his lap

"What's wrong? You've been kind of quiet tonight," chan leaned down slightly to look into jeongins eyes.

"I think I'm just a little off since my parents are gone.."

"You sure?" Chan asked

The house had gotten a little lonely especially since the other wasn't there like he used to be.

"Yeah.. I'm sure."

Chan set his vape down on the table again that he'd been taking several different drags from throughout their conversation. He pulled jeongin into a hug. Not just a regular embrace but a secure one. One that grounded jeongin again and made him believe that everything would be okay and one that made him feel safe again. But perhaps it wasn't just that, that made his heart swell in his chest.

It was because this was the type of hug that they used to always share. This type told jeongin that everything truly would be okay. It made him believe, all his doubts leaving his mind, possibly even for good.

Chan was not doing him wrong. He was here and he was present for jeongin.

The door to the house opened and out peaked hyunjin

"You guys coming?" He asked "we're all waiting for you,"

Jeongin pulled away to look at hyunjin, not missing the way his face seemed to soften a tad at the sight of the two so gushy like they used to be.

"Yeah," jeongin looked over at Chan who's eyes we're sparkling in admiration while looking at him "we're coming, "

The door closed softly as the older stood, lifting the other off of his lap as he did. A giggle erupted jeongins lips as he was walked backwards to the door as the other hugged him again tightly.

They took a moment to hug each other before letting go and walking inside the house. Upon opening the door they were met with the screaming of their chaotic friends.

Jising looked at them as they walked in, a fond smile written across his face. Hyunjin had of course came in and told him what he'd seen.

Everything was okay.

And it would be okay as far as they knew...
