DMWNT 14: The Lazarus Brothers

[Caspian]

"What took you so long?"

Spencer tapped me on the back. "Labas muna kami."

"You didn't exactly announce that you were back," I told him.

"Right," he muttered looking distracted. "Let's play darts."

"I didn't come here to play darts," I said between clenched teeth.

"Tayo. Arguing with him is pointless, laging ito ang nasusunod.

"Fine, one game," I grumbled and stood up.

Both of us stood about five meters away from the dart board. I took aim and hit the target right at the dead center.

Sinulyapan ko si Calyx. Walang imik na pumosisyon ito. He released the dart and hit the outside circle, miles away from the target.

I briefly shut my eyes and tried to take several calming breaths.

My jaw clenched when I saw the position of Calyx's elbow as he took aim. The angle is all wrong.

"You're missing on purpose."

"Let's stop this stupid game. You're loosing on purpose!"

He only looked at me, impassive.

"You always do that. Kahit noon! You're making me feel like I owe you."

"You don't wanna talk about that? Okay, fine. Then let's talk about the tournament." I took several calming breaths, hating the fact that my brother can turn me into a whining piece of crap effortlessly.

But it feels like even now he still own the position, and that I owe him everything that I have. I fcking hate it.

"Calm down, then sit," aniya at naunang pumwesto sa sopa.

"I am calm," I said drily, finally getting a hold of my horses, then sat opposite him.

"The tournament is a deadline," panimula niya. I won't interfere, and the others would be too busy training to mess with you." Seryoso niya akong tinignan. "During the tournament and after that, I'm taking over your job, whether you like it or not."

He stood up, preparing to leave. "Just remember that this job is assigned to you, Cas. Don't disappoint TOCE. Don't disappoint our father again."

I leaned back on the sofa, sporting a bit of headache.

Trece's face suddenly flashed in my mind. Two weeks. I have to make it work in two weeks.

I have to break her in two weeks.
