"Is my Chemistry book over there?" Emily asked. Spencer was looking outside of Emily's window while Ivy was sitting on Emily's bed. "I don't see it."
"It's probably in the room, Spence, not in the front yard."
"What happened to the Cavanaugh's mailbox? Somebody hit it?" Ivy got up to look outside. Their mailbox was in pieces on the floor.
"It's not the first time, and I'm sure it wasn't an accident. Every time I come home, Toby's out there cleaning up some new mess. And please don't say he deserves it."
"Nobody deserves it." Ivy said. "Actually some people do." She continued.
"I wasn't going to say that."
Is that it?" Ivy pointed to the book under the chair. "Thanks." Toby came outside to clean up the mess.
"Do you still think that somebody framed him?"
"Toby? Do we really want to have this fight now? I have to save up some of my energy for swim practice." Emily asked.
"We're not on different sides any more, Em. I mean, I know what it feels like to have somebody say you did something when you know that you didn't."
"Are you talking about the bracelets?" Ivy's eyes continued to go between them.
"I'd never seen that bead lady before that day, and yet she had my name written down on two sales receipts."
"We should go. I don't want to be late."
"I owe you an apology. Seriously. You believed that he was innocent from day one, and I jumped down your throat." Ivy cleared her throat. "Um, me too bitch. I was his friend first." She joked.
"And you." Spencer clarified. "I said some really heinous things about Toby."
"You should apologise to him not us." Ivy followed after Emily. "Ooh, I think I like badass Emily. She laughed.
Ivy, Hanna, Spencer and Emily were in the library. Hanna was turning the pages really fast, not actually reading it. "Are you reading that fast or fanning yourself?" Spencer asked.
"What? Um, sorry." Caleb signalled to Ivy to get Hanna, Ivy nudged her then nodded her head in Caleb's direction. Ivy smiled and Hanna got up. "Where are you going?" Emily wondered.
"Um, I left my lip gloss in the history stack. Got to find it."
"Lame excuse." Ivy muttered.
"What is the point of a swim off? Why would the coach pit you against each other before a meet?" Spencer inquired.
"She's using our combined times to choose anchor, and right now, we're tied."
"How about I push her?" Ivy suggested.
