The girls were sat on the floor rehearsing lines. "Start with the line about the stolen medal."

"Why isn't she wearing shoes?" Hanna asked. "So she can look short enough to play an eight-year-old. What's my line?"

"I don't see anything about a medal." Spencer leant forward. "No, that's what the eight-year-old killed her classmate for. Penmanship medal. That's why they call her the bad seed."

"A penmanship medal, really?"

"Yeah, I know, why can't they call it penwomanship." Ivy said. "Didn't you read the whole play?" Spencer turned to Hanna.

"Don't look at me. Hanna's the one trying out. I'm just here to make her look taller."

"Why do I have to read the whole play? I don't want to be the bad seeds mother. I want the other mother, the one who's drunk all the time." They laughed.

They talked for a while. Hanna and Ivy told them that 'A' found out that Caleb was staying in their basement. Hanna said that she was going to ask her Mom before 'A' got to her.

Mona came strolling over to them. "Hey, there, Hanna and her clanna!" She greeted. "Hey, Mona. How'd it go in there?"

"Honestly, nailed it. It was epic. I think Mr Fitz cried." She exclaimed.

The girls were making fun of Aria and Ezra when they heard the familiar tap of Jenna's cane. "Is Mr Fitz in the auditorium?" She asked.

"Uh, I'm, uh, right here, Jenna. What can I do for you?" Mr Fitz and Jenna went into conversation. Ivy zoned out because, quite frankly she didn't care.

Hanna, Ivy and Ashley were in the kitchen. Hanna was cutting up oranges, Ivy was eating a bit of toast while Ashley stood at the fridge. "Didn't I just buy this milk?"

"Is it sour?" Ivy wondered. "Empty. And so is the butter dish. Why are we going through so many groceries?"

"I'm a big person." Ivy said with a laugh.

"I may have made some Mac and cheese for Caleb and me."

"Yeah, and didn't make me any." Ivy groaned. "He stayed over for dinner a couple of times."

"I thought we talked about this. I'm not crazy about this friendship."

"Mom, his home situation sucks. His foster parents treat him like dirt."

"Hanna, there are a lot of great families out there he could be placed with, just not ours. And...there's no sugar, either."

"I made cookies." Ivy smiled. "Where are they?" Ashley wondered.

"I ate them." She shrugged.

"So, I guess this would be a bad time to ask if he can stay in our guest room for a couple of nights?"
