At 7:30 am, I walk out of the pool house and head towards the main house where I see my mother behind the stove. She has a blue apron on and there's flour covering it. There's come on her face. "Morning, Lizzie. I thought I'd make breakfast before everyone leaves this morning."

A smile spreads across my face. "I've missed your cooking, Mom. I'm looking forward to eating this. Do you think you'll have leftovers?"

"I'm not sure, why?"

"I want to take some to work for Chad. He normally skips breakfast and just drinks coffee. For morning tea he has a doughnut or something quick for him to eat. Kat brings him food for lunch and they eat together. He hardly leaves the office, but I supposed that's what a good boss does. Get the job done without any complaints."

"I'll make something for him." She puts some food on the table and looks over at me. "Why don't you sit and I'll make you a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice."

Moving over to the table I sit down and wait for the rest of the family to join me. When they do we start talking and eating Mom's food. She sits next to me. Her phone goes off and she looks at it. "Your father is on his way here."

"Grandpa," Mia says. "Dad, can we stay with Grandma and Grandpa, please?"

"I'm not sure," Sebastian says. He looks at his wife. "You'll have to ask your mother?"

"Mom?" Logan whines. "Please,"

Mom cuts in and says. "We don't have a problem with them staying here. As long as you're okay with it, Kat."

Kat looks between her kids. "You know what. They never have a day off from school. So, why not give them the day off." she starts to eat her food. "Mom, I won't be home until after six. Are you sure that having them all day isn't too much?"

"It will be fine. Your father will be going to sleep after breakfast. I was thinking that we'd stay in the house and do activities together. Just like we did at my place when they come over and Grandpa was at work." she picks up her fork and eats the eggs from her plate.

When I look up I see that's eight-fifteen. "Mom, I need to go to work." I grab the container, knife and fork from the table. I put it into a bag and head towards the door. "Love you, Mom."

Mom looks towards the door and says. "Love you, sweetheart."

Walking out the front door I head to the car and put the food on the front passenger seat. I grab a bottle of water and unscrew the cap and drink from it. I place it in the cupholder. Starting the car I drive up the driveway and head towards work.

There are heaps of cars on the road and I tap on the steering wheel as the car slowly creeps along the road.

Riiing, Riiing.

Looking at the phone I see 'Chad' flash across the screen. I answer the phone. "Hello, this is Eliza."

Chad: How long will you be?

Me: I'm stuck in traffic. It might take some time before I get to the office. Can you transfer the office calls to my phone? I'll make notes as I make my way to the office if anyone calls.

Chad: Okay, what am I going to do if someone comes into the office?

Me: Stick your head out the door every half an hour. I don't think you have anyone coming by this morning. When I get to the office I'll tell you everything.

Chad: Drive safe here, Eliza.

Me: I will. See you soon.

Hanging up the phone I look forward and see a truck stopped in a lane and it run up the back of the car. Police and ambulance are at the crash scene. Using blue tooth I call my sister. The phone rings a couple of times before she answers.

Kat: Hey, Lizzie. What's wrong?

Me: There's traffic on the road. If you want to get to the hospital on time you should leave now.

Kat: Okay, we're about to leave. Are you running late to work?
