Christmas Day
It's been nearly a month since Chad moved in with me and everything seems to be going perfect for us. He's the best man I've ever been with. He cares about me and is getting ready to be a father to another man's child, but that hasn't made him want to run from me. He's there for me and even helped me start up my company, which isn't something he had to do.
Turning over in bed I look at the time and see it's 8 am Christmas morning. Climbing out of bed I head towards the bathroom and do my business. Once I've finished I walk back to the room and see Chad's side of the bed empty. Putting a gown on I head towards the kitchen and see him behind the counter mixing something in a bowl.
I wrap my arms around him and whisper. "What are you making?"
He turns in my arms and smiles at me. Showing off his perfect teeth. Grabbing what's in the bowl he put a small amount on my nose. "You'll have to wait and see my beautiful, girl. Why don't you go back to bed and I can bring this up to you for breakfast?"
"No," I shake my head. "I don't want to be alone this morning."
The door to the house opens and my parents walk through the door. "Merry Christmas." They say as they enter the kitchen. Mom and Dad hug me. "We're about to go to Kat's house and see them for breakfast as they invited us over."
"Merry Christmas." Chad and I say to them.
Knock. Knock, knock. Turning towards Chad I ask. "Are you expecting anyone?"
"No," He takes my hand and we move towards the front door. When we get there Chad opens it revealing my sister and her family.
"Kat. What are you doing here? Mom and Dad are about to go to your place for breakfast."
She looks at me and says. "My husband here decided to make breakfast for us and he burnt it. Our house smells like smoke. We've opened everything up and we're hoping the smell clears up before we head back home for lunch with..." Kat doesn't need to finish the sentence about who's going over to her place.
"Come on in." pointing towards my boyfriend I say. "Chad's in the middle of making me breakfast. Just help yourself to whatever we have in the cupboard." I pull chad towards the kitchen and sit on the chair. "We're hungry, Chad. You can't starve the baby." I wink at him and he groans.
"Damn, you know how to make me move faster in the kitchen. I can't let my girl's go hungry." For the last couple of weeks, Chad's been telling me that I'm having a girl. Even though I don't know what I'm having.
Mia walks into the room and sits next to me. "When can I open my presents?"
Turning towards her I say. "You'll be getting them tonight when you come over."
"Can I have one?"
"Me, too," Logan asks.
I look towards my sister asking her if it's okay that I give them one.
A smile spreads across her face. "One, they aren't going to open more than that. I don't want them to make their cousins jealous because of the things that you bought them."
"Okay," standing up I lead them towards the Christmas tree that's sitting in the living room. There are heaps of presents under it. Marked for everyone that I'm close to. Going through them I find the ones that I want to give my niece and nephew. I give them a present. "This is from Uncle Chad and me. I hope you like it."
They tear the wrapping paper off the presents and once they have it open they show me what they got. Mia got a doll and Logan got a red sports car. They hug me and say. "Thank you."
