"So what, you're going to keep me locked up in here forever?"- Eda asked Serkan as he showed her the room he'd arranged for her at the warehouse where his office was too.
"You'd rather I killed you?"- Serkan answered, not looking her in the eyes. "We were in need of a doctor, we got one. Consider this your lucky day."
"If you think I'll join your dirty business, you have got it all wrong. I'm not scared of you"- Eda raised up so she could meet his gaze. His green eyes were now dark, unsure. There was something in them she couldn't quite figure out.
"You should be, and I don't think you have any other choice"- Serkan said to her.
"But you did and you didn't kill me. Why?"- Eda asked, but he took his eyes off of her. He himself didn't have the answer to the question. Yes, exactly, why didn't he? He wouldn't have minded putting a bullet in between her eyes were it another person, but for some reason, his gut told him that killing her was simply wrong.
"You'll be comfortable here. You'll be notified when we will be in need of your services."- Serkan said as he left the room, locking the door behind him despite Eda's tries to break it.
"Senden nefret ediyorum"- Eda screamed through a closed door.
"Mehmet, gather any intel on everything there is to know about Eda Yildiz and have it sent to me"- Serkan ordered one of his loyal men as he headed to his office.
Eda heard a knock on the door, before seeing her very friend, Ceren, come in.
"Ceren, what are you doing here? How is it possible?"- Eda said as she grabbed her friend's hands.
"Eda"- Ceren lowered her gaze to their tangled hands, not being able to explain anything.
"Tabi ya"- Eda finally realized, putting the pieces together. "You work for him, don't you? You and Ferit?"
"Yes, we do. And trust me the last thing I wanted was you getting caught up in the middle of this. I'm so sorry"- Ceren said as Eda drew her hands back.
"Apologize to me by getting me the hell out of here. What am I even doing here Ceren? What about work? What about my life?"
"I'm sorry Eda, you should know by now I can't do that. I'm surprised you're even alive. Guess he has a soft spot for you and whatever you do, do not defy him Eda. There's only one thing you can do and that is to earn his trust, and once you do and get to know him, you'll see he's not as ruthless as he looks like. But he can be, once you betray his trust. Not many have done this and lived long enough to tell the story"- Ceren said, watching Eda's eyes sadden by each second that passed.
"Here, I brought you your clothes and some of your stuff you may need. I already talked to Melo, I'm here if you need anything"- she continued.
"How about my life back"- Eda said with a tone of sarcasm combined with anger in her voice. But Ceren understood her anger, it was justified, so she didn't push that much. She was grateful and amazed that Serkan hadn't killed her. If there was one thing to know about Serkan Bolat, it was that he hated loose ends.
Eda was bored to death. Usually, her day would consist of constant running to the ER, surgeries and consults, but there, nothing. So she decided to take her pocket of cigarettes with her, get out of the room and walk around for a bit. She was sure no one would have minded, and she knew that even if she could, there was no point in escaping. The warehouse was heavily guarded, plus Serkan would have already seen that coming.
So she made her way through a hall that led to a small balcony where she could see the sunset. She sat on the chair and put her feet on the table, resting her head at the wall behind her as she lit a cigarette up, letting the smoke fill her lungs completely, before blowing it out in the air.
