Marina's POV

"I'm going to tell you something and I think you're going to hate me" I tell my friends. They just look at me, curious but not taking me seriously. Laf smirks a little at me from the kitchen. She thinks I'm extra for making it so formal.

But I know it's valid.

"Okay?" Jess smiles

"No this is really serious" I fold my arms. I've gathered them to tell them that my name isn't actually Electra. I don't know how it's going to go. I did pretty much lie to them.. They deserve to be upset with me.

"Go ahead" Stella looks at me expectantly. They're both sat together on the couch.

They only just came over. Laf's heading out soon so I thought I may as well invite them. Lizzy's hanging out with Ashley I think, which I really like. Their closeness is very sweet. It used to make me a bit jealous but I know that she loves me like she loves nobody else, so I just enjoy it for her.

"My name isn't Electra" I say before I can regret it. They don't look shocked, but they do look at each other. "What?" I ask

"We know" Jess tells me, I lower my brows

wait what?

"How?"

"Laf gave it away the first time we came over. She didn't want you to know we knew because of the Electra image" she explains. I look at Laf in the kitchen.

"Did she?" I glance at her. She looks rather sheepish. Apologetic kind of. I smile a little. She's sweet. "That's fine. So you don't hate me?"

"Of course not. The Electra concept is interesting, you should write about it" Jess tells me

"I kind of already do.." I admit, sitting down next to her.

"I mean songs. You have good ideas and a good voice, so you should."

"I'm not talking about this with you" I laugh "I'll get embarrassed.."

"Well I think you'd have a better chance at making it in the UK than here. The UK's smaller, you'd be well known within like.. days." Stella tells me. I just smile

Americans really don't have any concept whatsoever of the size of the UK. They think it takes about two hours to get from Scotland to London. They're so wrong. Especially with the London traffic.

"It's sweet you have such confidence in me, but I don't really think I'm considering it. I'm just excited to switch cultures and.." be with Lizzy "learn at university. It'll be interesting."

"You should singing as your outlet for all your knowledge" Stella suggests, I roll my eyes. They aren't getting it.

"I'm not discussing this any further." I say, Jess smiles

"Aww did we hit a nerve? What would your stage name be?" She's doing it on purpose at this point. It's awkward. She likes to subject me to this type of thing.

"Something with your real name. Marina Diamonds" Stella joins in. I smile - I like that they know my name.

"It's Diamandis.." I correct, making it sound as Greek as it should. I am half Greek after all.

"Diamonds is catchier" she teases, I laugh a little

"That's rather rude.."

"You could be Marina Diamonds"

"I could, if it wasn't devoid of all meaning" I joke, she smiles

"Just think on it.. Aren't you gonna get lonely in the UK? You're not gonna have us"
