"So these are our options?" Jennie asked as her nails skimmed the white sheet decked out with words in black ink.
"Yes unnie, we get to choose whichever we prefer as long as it's in the file." Sana said sipping on her strawberry milkshake across the table from Jennie.
If you haven't caught on, the team is now choosing their first case they would handle as a group, the case has been lowered to a level where they can actually solve it, and it's not a practice case either as it's a real situation.
They would actually be the ones doing the case as the prosecutors side.
That's why they were given a file to choose from.
"I really like the break in one, it looks easy." Jungkook chimed in as Jennie shook her head.
"If we do something too easy we will be looked down upon for future cases, and we will only receive ones of similar difficulty for a long time to come. So no, let's not do that" Jennie said as she pulled out the paper he suggested and added it to the pile of the 'no go's' as Jungkook sat back with a scowl of disappointment.
Of course they would add them back in later, it's not like they could leave legal information laying on a table in a random café in Seoul. Absolutely not.
"What about this one, motor vehicle theft of car #65-412?" Sana suggested as she spotted one and pointed at it.
"No way, that's less field work and a lot more filing and paper work. We'd have to file about who stole it, the owner, research the buying back ground, the number plate and a lot more. There's no way we are going to sit at desks more than actually solve a case on the first one" Jennie said vehemently refusing the said case as Sana now mimicked Jungkook's earlier reaction.
"It seems like choosing a case will be harder than actually solving it." Jungkook muttered, whining a little out of exhaustion.
Jennie flipped through a few more pages before finally stopping.
"Here perfect, Aggravated Assault." Jennie said stopping at page #37 as she pointed it out.
"Our victim of the case was reportedly assaulted while on the way home from the convenience store as he was out to buy cigarettes. Motive for assault still unknown as defendant refused to speak, and victim is currently unable to identify defendant." Jennie read out the details before turning the file over to show it to the pair.
"It's perfect because even though there might be a lot of paper work, the case still has field work and interrogation where Jungkook can learn from Sana in people skills, and Sana you can as well when we go to examine the crime scene." Jennie continued as the two looked at the paper Jennie passed over.
"Yeah I like it." Jungkook said as he smiled, partially because it was a good case and partially because they finally chose one.
"Me too, it looks interesting and the defendant is kinda cute" Sana said.
"Sana he's a criminal. What kind of kinky shit is this" Jennie said looking at her weirdly as Sana immediately denied.
"Hey I just said he's cute, it doesn't mean I want to fuck him!" she defended as Jungkook just chuckled knowing someone else was finally the victim.
"Yeah well we will see about that at the interrogation." Jennie retorted as Sana raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked as Jennie snapped a photo of the returned case paper.
"I mean if you can keep your hormones under control there, then I'll believe you." she smirked as she put the paper back in as Jungkook chortled.
"Yah unnie! Don't do this to me!" she said whining as Jennie only laughed at the younger girl.
"Let's go." Jennie stood up ending the teasing session between Jungkook and Sana as she packed up her own things and got all the papers.
They immediately got up as well collecting their own belongings as they followed Jennie to the counter.
"Bill please." she asked politely to the lady at the cashier who nodded with a smile and began ringing up their order.
"Let's split it three ways." Jungkook suggested as he began taking out his purse along with an agreeing Sana as Jennie stopped them.
"Yah let me treat you, you're both my juniors and it's our first night out." Jennie said and Sana was about to refuse but froze along with Jungkook as Jennie pulled out a black card.
The cashier was also very shocked at the sight of it and immediately thought the girl was either a young CEO or even possibly an idol in school.
After ringing up the order Jennie got the card as she stepped out the café with the other two trailing behind.
"Wow noona, you are seriously rich...." Jungkook muttered the minute they got out as Jennie only shook her head at the kid.
"Yeah, I mean a black card?" Sana questioned from Jennie's right side.
"Look, it's my parents account for me and my sisters expenses. What I paid for you guys is out of my budget, I'm not that much of a spender either. It's mostly mum who forces me to go shopping all the time." Jennie said as she walked into the paid parking lot nearby because she couldn't park her car on the road.
"Also, how are you two going to the dorms?" Jennie questioned the pair seeing as they followed her.
"Ahh we just escorted you out of courtesy. We will take the bus together at the stand." Jungkook explained as Jennie shook her head.
"Hop in I'll give you a ride." Jennie said as she got her car keys and unlocked her Audi R8, shocking the two even more.
"No no you don't have to, we c-" Sana began but was cut off by Jennie.
"It's not like I'm going out of my way or anything down worry. The college is on my way back. It's also more convenient" Jennie said as she put her things in the back seat and faced the two.
"Now who calls shotgun?"
