Jennie was chilling on the couch with Taehyung as they were cuddled up together watching "The High Society," a movie that had popped up on their recommendations.

"Do you think The High Society is any close to that?" Jennie asked as Taehyung shook his head.

"It's definitely not that ridiculous. In reality, people don't actually care that much about other rich people," he said as he fed her a bite of the sandwich he was having.

"That's good," she said as she swallowed, and he nodded.

"Yeah, Mom always packs in bulk. We have these to last for at least a week," he said, laughing as Jennie smiled.

"I miss my mom; she's in New Zealand," she sighed as Taehyung thought.

"Clare Park, right? She was like our godmother," he said, remembering her.

"You must have a lot of childhood memories with her then?" She asked as he shook his head.

"Not really, I only stayed with her till I was around 2, then she left and visited once in a while. Heard she had a daughter in New Zealand, that must have been Rosé," he said as Jennie nodded and shifted, now laying in his lap looking up at him.

He smiled and drew circles on her cheeks as he took the last bite of his sandwich.

"I can't wait for college to end, I know there's like two more years but still," Jennie said as Taehyung nodded.

"It does get a bit painful sometimes, and annoying," he pointed out.

"Especially the exams," she continued as he shook his head at her.

"You literally scored the highest, stop complaining," he interjected while she slightly tapped his chin with force.

"That took me a lot, a lot of studying. Don't even go there, Kim Taehyung-ssi," she said as he rolled his eyes.

"Kim Taehyung-ssi? You're going formal now huh? That wasn't the case last night," he pointed out as she smirked.

"But it isn't last night now, is it? Kim Taehyung-ssi?" She continued teasing him as he only smirked.

He quickly pulled her up and placed her in a seating position so that she was now in his lap.

"I can recreate it though, or make it better," he grinned as he kissed her, and she kissed back.

He started reaching for her shirt when suddenly the phone rang and interrupted them.

"That's mine," she sheepishly smiled before getting off and attending to it, much to his despair.

He just leaned his head back as he smiled at the events earlier but froze as he heard a loud voice echoing across.

"WHAT?!" Jennie yelled from the phone as Taehyung turned back to look at her, whose back was facing him from the living room.

"Okay okay. Calm down. I'm heading over now, text Jungkook and have him come as well," Jennie said to the person on the phone, making Taehyung puzzled as he looked at the time.

11:45 p.m.

Jennie hung up the phone quickly as she ran to her room, and moments later she came out dressed compared to her earlier shorts and oversized T-shirt, she was now sporting a black button-up and black jeans, pairing it with the first pair of sneakers as she stuffed a purse and began tying her hair.

"Where are you going?" Taehyung asked confused as she looked back at him.

"There's a huge issue with my case. A murder, to be exact. I have to go," she said quickly as she walked over and gave him a peck.

"It's too late; you can't go now. Let me come with you," he began as Jennie stopped him.

"You can't, you're not allowed to at least. Don't worry I can take care of myself, hm? Don't wait up for me either. I might have to be out all night," she said as she grabbed her car keys from the rack and opened the door.

"I'll see you," she said as she left, and Taehyung couldn't do anything but watch her leave.

He really did want to go with her; it was really late at night after all.

But he knew he should trust her; this was her case after all.

If he interfered, it would mess up the whole case, and so he would have to trust her on this.

It did seem really important after all.

He decided to shut the television off as he placed the remote down, rearranged the pillows, and shut off the living room lights, making his way into his own bedroom as he got ready for the night.

Doing his basic face wash and moisturizer routine, he brushed his teeth and then climbed into his bed, which now felt empty without her.

He just sighed and forced himself asleep as his eyes fell heavy.

Meanwhile, Jennie had just parked as near as she could, due to the crowding around the place; she immediately ran to the scene not wanting anything to get messed up.

There was press everywhere.

The reporters were mobbing around and police officers were there left and right as they tried to keep them under control, which seemed to have worked till then.

Jennie ditched her bag in her car as she only took what would fit in her pocket, her keys, iPhone, and ID.

Walking faster, she was able to spot the entrance as she tried to walk in but was stopped by an officer right at the entrance.

"Sorry, no visitors," he said, and she noticed why he stopped her, she didn't even know him, he was a complete new face.

"I'm the prosecution in charge." Jennie said flashing her ID to him as he examined it and stepped aside.

"Also, when these two show up, let them in immediately," she said to the officer showing the pictures of Sana and Jungkook as he just nodded.

"There's no officers inside currently. They examined and left earlier to come back with more devices. You will be alone in there for the next 15 minutes or so. Just call for us if you need something," he said as Jennie nodded and bowed before walking in.

A reporter saw the interaction as she immediately began talking.

"The prosecutor incharge has arrived as they have begun examining the scene. She has just gone inside. More details to come in"
