Jennie walked into the café across the school street as she was supposed to meet Jungkook and Sana there, as planned.
She had just finished her last class of the day, legal property, and that very class had so much paper work that it always managed to give her a head ache.
She came to the open table booth towards the back as she found the pair already waiting for her.
Amused at them being so punctual she just smiled before sitting there in front of them.
The two who noticed her immediately tried to stand up and greet her, but couldn't as their clumsy selves knocked over the napkin holder, and then they knocked into each other, causing one to fall to one side as the other fell onto the wall
behind them and in the end just plainly embarrassed themselves.Jennie couldn't help herself as she started laughing at the scene in front of her.
"Oh lord you two are so hilarious. Like little clumsy toddlers." she mused as she chuckled once again at them trying to put themselves back together.
"Sorry." they both apologised once they finally sorted themselves out.
"Oh god, that's exactly what I needed after a long day. Sit down, but please don't fall over this time." she said as she couldn't help teasing the pair.
"All right, so we will be working together this year and possibly next year if we work together well enough." Jennie began once the situation had finally calmed down.
"A-ah yes." Sana said as Jungkook pulled out files from his bag.
"So for our first task, I was told we have to solve a case, of course I'll be the one guiding as I'm the only one who can with my student license." Jennie said as the two nodded.
"And since we'll be working together for a while, let's talk casually. No need to calm me sunbae(senior) or anything, just call me unnie(older sister; feminine) and noona( older sister; masculine), assuming I'm older than you two unless you guys are aging back wards." she joked as the two smiled.
"Yes noona!" Jungkook said with a mock salute as he became used to her quicker than he thought he would.
"Sorry unnie, he just always wanted an older sister as a friend. The only other person he calls noona is his friends sister, and they never meet." Sana tried to explain awkwardly as Jennie only smiled.
"Don't worry, I grew up with younger kids at the orphanage all the time, so it's no big deal. I'm used to having younger siblings." Jennie said pointing her pen towards Jungkook and Sana as she said the last part.
"Orphanage?" Jungkook questioned confused as he pulled his own package of banana milk.
"Yes orphanage, I'm adopted." she confessed rather simply as Sana nodded in understanding despite being a little surprised.
"My friend, well actually family friend, went to school near an orphanage. He said he had this group of friends as well till they fell apart due to one moving, and of the couples breaking up." he explained as Jennie tilted her head in deep thought.
"That sounds weirdly familiar..." she muttered under her breath.
"Sorry?" Jungkook confused as he didn't hear if.
"Ah nothing nothing." Jennie said shaking it off as she grabbed the folders from the pair's side of the table.
"How about we get some tteokbaki and get to work hm?" She suggested as Sana nodded and went to order.
After she got back they began going over the pair's older test scores and over view as Jennie monitored their strengths and weaknesses, seeing where the two might need support and guidance and which points they can stand stronger.
"Hm so basically Jungkook you seem to be good at fieldwork at the scene, while Sana you're good at People skills...those are very good attributes, but it seems you two are weaker on each other's elements, so let's work on that okay?" Jennie concluded flipping through pages making notes as they nodded and the tteokbaki arrived.
"Ahhh it looks so good." Jungkook said as he saw them as Sana just smiled.
"Let's also try and find a more private place to work next time onwards, we can't go to a house obviously so maybe one of the empty club rooms, we can apply for it before someone else." Jennie suggested as she looked as the two who also agreed to the plan, as talking about legal matters in a café wasn't ideal.
Sana noticed how Jennie kept brushing her hair to the side so reached in her bag and handed her senior a hair tie as the latter thanked her for it while trying to tie her hair in a messy bun.
"Unnie, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but you are very pretty. Even with your hair in a bun." Sana complimented as she blushed a little, as Jennie only smiled at her.
"You both are good looking too, don't just talk about me. I'm surprised you haven't turned into those popular kids at school." Jennie mused popping a piece of the tteokbaki in her mouth.
"He is." Sana motioned pointing to the kid next to her as Jungkook started profusely refusing.
"No no way, there's absolutely no popularity in me." he began as Sana raised an eyebrow.
"You get asked out almost every day, everyone knows you and half of the students in our year and even a few of the next year students pine after you, there's literally no way you can deny it." she said as Jennie smirked teasingly.
"No but why?" he asked whining at Sana teasing him.
"Omo, I just realised, what will his die hard fangirls think of him eating tteokbaki with two girls, especially in a café!" Jennie smirked continuing to tease the red boy.
"H-hey, y-you, no b-but, you guys.... you are teaming up on me not fair!" he accused pointing a finger between the two as they only looked back at him.
"Us? Are we ganging up on him Sana?" Jennie asked innocently with a sarcastic tone as Sana only smiled and replied the same way.
"I don't think so, the truth is really brutal isn't it?" She mused as Jungkook was just even more red.
"No but why?"
