"We're here." Jennie said as she stood up and got out the car.
"Finally, some actual work." Jungkook jumped out behind her, evidently excited, while Sana got out last.
"The one time he finally wants to do work." she muttered rolling her eyes as Jennie chuckled at the pair.
"Okay, alright, alright. Let's go now" Jennie smiled while calming the pair down as she linked her arms with their elbows and dragged them to the entrance of the café.
They walked towards it as they saw the authorities information tape already been put up.
"All right, Jungkook go with Sana and talk to the owners, I've had a witness called in who I'll talk to." Jennie said as Jungkook groaned while Sana nodded.
"Why can't we look at the scene first." he whined as Jennie chuckled at his childish behaviour while walking away.
The three met up sooner than assumed as it didn't take too long and everyone gave accounts of the same thing according to the notes.
"So all in all, just some guy, who is our defendant, walked into the café where our victim was resting on his way home, and then attacked him. No investigation took place till now because it wasn't a murder and just an assault. He looked furious and apparently had a heated talk first, and the crime scene is untouched." Jennie said summarising their investigation results so far as Jungkook and Sana nodded.
"Well Jungkook, go ahead." she said as she faced him and his whole face lit up while he practically booked it for the scene, leaving Jennie and Sana to only shake their heads at his behaviour.
They followed behind as they all reached the corner where it happened and found the broken glass from the sudden pressure.
"Aish what a mess, get your gloves on I don't want to ruin anything" Jennie said as she tied up her hair, not wanting that to fall in the process of investigation either.
Sana followed suit and tied her own hair hair before she slipped on the latex gloves.
"Well it looks like any other normal assault." Sana declared as Jungkook rolled his eyes at her.
"Yah at least try and get a scope of how the events happened." he retorted as she scoffed.
"As if you were even interested. The store owners told us what happened." she defended as Jennie just shook her head.
"Firstly both of you shut up we're causing a scene. Secondly what Jungkook means Sana is how the victim was hit and where he was likely hit....what angles and all that. And Jungkook, be less excited and compose yourself." she instructed, putting the two in check as they just meekly nodded.
She also watched the scene as she looked at the different angles and then determined something taking out her phone as she took pictures.
"Here the victim was likely thrown or pushed first, and then thrashed to this side, you can see that the impact lessens so it makes the most sense.
The defendant likely pushed them for the first break in the glass, and then in the second one it might have just been the victim falling over from a hit, likely a punch." She concluded as Jungkook nodded.
"The table seems to have fallen over from a kick, based on the mud on the side to where likely the victim would have kicked in defence." he pointed out as Sana snapped a picture of that.
"I think that's about it right?" Sana asked as she didn't notice much else and the other two seemed quiet.
"Ye-" Jungkook started but was interrupted by Jennie.
"Blood." she said simply as she approached it.
"What?" Sana asked confused as she also followed the line of sight.
"There's a drop of blood on that glass, get a swab and send it in for analysis, just in case." Jennie said as Jungkook looked at her confused.
"Why would we do that, don't we already know the case enough?" He asked as Jennie shook her head.
"We can never be too sure. I listened to your conversation with the owner, and they said he looked angry and crazed. I'm just thinking, the defendant is refusing to speak as well, he could have possibly been under the influence." She said as Sana nodded and retrieved a swab and placed it in the bag.
"Let's drop it off at forensics on the way. Okay? Make sure we don't lose that, it could be key evidence." Jennie said as Sana nodded once again in agreement.
"Just check once again if there's any more blood Jungkook." Jennie instructed as the two of them looked for more blood and Sana over looked for any other major sites, just in case.
"There's some more here." Jungkook walked to the table and holding up a piece of glass while Sana took a swab of it.
"All right, I think that's it. Let's get out of their hair." Jennie motioned towards the owners of the café who were intently observing their moves.
Jungkook and Sana nodded as they left, collecting all that they needed and getting their gloves off, as they threw them in the trash along with other waste they had and heading out once they thanked the owners and staff for cooperating with them.
"Why don't you two take a cab back to your own place. I have finals from Monday so let's continue the case next week. I'll drop the samples at the forensic centre and since it's a Friday, do whatever. I'll tell you about anything if it pops up but we won't be able to actually meet till the following Monday. Sounds good?" Jennie asked the two as they nodded.
"Good luck on your finals noona." Jungkook says putting up a fighting motion while Jennie chuckled.
"Thank you. Now call a cab quickly, it looks like it'll rain." She said as Sana did so, and Jennie waited with them talking till the cab finally came.
"Wait noona, what did you mean by connections?" Jungkook asked referencing to how she said she would call his parents.
Jennie simply responded with a wink.
"You'll see."
