Chapter 17

Anahita's Pov

In the morning I got a call from my HOD

He told me to come hospital quickly as there's an emergency operation and he wants me to assist him with that he ended the call.

He was on leave from last 1 month, now he is back and already started working like a maniac.

Assist him? That work can be done by any nurse but why me?

If there's an emergency then any nurse could've called me I wonder why did he call me, he could've asked someone else too to inform me about this.

But this call shattered my heart into million pieces.

Yesterday only I decide that today I'm going to drop him off at airport but it seems like now I can't.

I called Aditya, told him that I'm not coming, apologised too and also booked a cab for him so that he don't have any problem while booking it at the end time.

I got ready quickly and left for hospital, after half an hour I reached.

I was in my cabin going through reports of the patient whom we're going to operate now.

Just then one nurse came in my cabin

"Good morning Dr. Anahita, Dr. Mishra wants to see you" she told me

"Right now?" I asked her "Yes Doctor" I sighed and told her that I'm coming.

I left for HOD'S office and knocked on the door.

When I heard 'come in' in a very hard voice I entered the office.

There he was, a 30 yr old cardiologist, Mr Sanjay Mishra, a divorcee too. His wife left him because he was cheating on her with another women.

Whole hospital know about his personal life and his personality too.

He is also a pervert. I hate to be around him.

I also think that she did the right thing by divorcing him because a person like him don't deserve a sweet lady like her.

He looked at me from head to toe with a flirty look then gave me dirty smile.

"Good morning Sir, you called me?" I asked trying to erase the tension in the room.

"Yes I called you to meet you" he said with smirk

"What sir?" I said in a shocked tone, not believing him what he said

"I mean, I called you to discuss about the surgery" he said while looking at the file in his hand.

I nodded my head, for 10 minutes we discussed about the surgery then from there and went to O.T.

During the whole surgery Dr. Mishra was touching my hand I don't know if that was intentionally or unintentionally but I let it go because we were saving a life that time.

The surgery was successful I came out of the room then Dr. Mishra came towards me

"Today you're the doctor in charge at night shift." he said, I was about to say something but he already left from there.

Aditya already told me not to work in night shifts now what will I do?

I sighed my life is messed up.

Whole day I was missing Aditya I wonder what he must be doing right now.

At 7pm I was in the ER when I got a call from Aditya, my face glowed up.

I quickly went out of the room and picked up the call.

"Hello" He said, it feels so good to hear his voice "Hello Aditya, Did you reached there?" I asked "yeah I've reached just a few minutes ago and on the way to hotel." he said. He sound so tired.

"Okay and take rest as much as you can" I said

"Sure, What are you doing?" He asked

"Checking patients" I said

"What? You're at hospital, you should be home at this time. Don't tell me you're working in night shift again." he said in annoyed voice.

I knew it this would happen. In this or that way he'll know that I'm still at work.

"Unfortunately, Yes I've to work in night shift today. My HOD told me" I said hoping he would not scold me.

"Anahita, I've already told you not to work at night shift, you get too much exhausted in it." he said, concern clearly visible in his voice.

"I know, But what can I do when my HOD told me to do?" I said trying to make him understand.

"Okay I understand, but take care of yourself, don't stress too much" he said

I smiled at his caring nature.

"Yes Mr. Aditya and you too" I said.

We talked for more 10 minutes then ended our call.

He also told me that he is missing me a lot and me too it's really hard to live without seeing his handsome face every day.

I hope to see him very soon.
