Without you

I know you're saying all this because you're in love with me but-"

"But unnie I'm not in love with you anymore." I lied.

She stopped crying and looked at me with a surprise "you're not?"

"Yes unnie. I love you as a best friend. I don't have feelings for you anymore. You don't have to worry about it now. It's a good thing for both us." I forced a smile.

"Oh" is all she said.

There was a silence between us again. Why isn't she saying anything? She should be happy after hearing I don't love her. I wanted her to not feel bad for me. I know she feels bad for not loving me back. We also have to live in the same room so I don't want her to hesitate living with me. I want to cut off few of her worries and this lie with benefit both of us. Maybe I will get over her for real.

"That's a relief. I am happy for you Byul-ah, you don't have to suffer anymore." She smiled but something seemed off. I didn't want to pressure her to pour out her thoughts so I decided to let the topic slide and headed straight to food.

We both had ttoekbokki together and went to bed. We had a big day tomorrow.

*SOLAR POV*

It's 2 AM and I'm restless. I turned on the other side and saw Byul sleeping so peacefully. She looks so beautiful while sleeping. I can't believe that she's not in love with me anymore. It's a good thing, I guess. 

I hope she finds someone who will give her all the love she deserves. Sometimes I wish I could give her what she wants. WAIT. Stop and sleep now Yongsun. You have an important day tomorrow.

"Wake up unnie" I heard Moonbyul as I struggled to open my eyes.

"Should we try pouring water on her? Maybe she'll wake up then" I heard another voice in the background. I'm sure it was Hwasa.

I quickly opened my eyes "I'm up. I'm up. No need to pour water on anyone." I said looking at Hwasa.

"Get up unnie, we'll be late. We have our concert rehearsal today." Wheein reminded. I quickly got up and rushed to get ready.

How can I forget about the rehearsal? I was the last person to arrive. Byul, Wheein and Hwasa were already rehearsing and playing.  I heard a familiar voice cheering for them.

It was Hani. What is she doing here? Doesn't she have her own rehearsal or something? I walked on the stage towards Byul.

"Unnie, finally you are here." Byul said with a relief. "I cannot handle these kids. How do you get them to practice?" she said while pointing at Wheein and Hwasa. They were still arguing about if or not Hwasa should date a chicken.

I told everyone to take break for few minutes. Wheein and Hwasa went to order something, Byul was still complaining about maknaes. "Unnie, how do you handle these kids?" she giggled.

We were walking towards Wheein and Hwasa to join them in deciding food, I suddenly tripped because of the slippery floor and Byul caught me quickly. 

"Be careful" She said in soft voice. My heart skipped a beat when she said that. She held my hand till we walked towards the kids. Byul invited Hani to join us too. I don't understand why Hani gets so clingy with Byul? We all decided the order and went back to rehearsal. 

We decided to practice till the food arrives. We started our performance, Hani was cheering for us, but mostly for Byul. Everything was going fine until mid-performance Byul slipped and fell. We all helped her to get up but she was wincing in pain. It seemed like she sprained her ankle. She was not able to stand up.

We rushed her to the hospital. We were waiting outside the room while doctors checked her up. Once they let us in, all of us went toward Byul. She smiled at us even after being in pain. She doesn't want us to worry about her. The doctors advised her to stay in the hospital for today and then she can go home. She needs to rest for a week.

"One of you can stay with her tonight" The nurse advised. I was worried about her so I wanted to stay with her. 

"I will stay" I offered. Before I could say anything else, I heard Moonbyul say "It's okay unnie. Hani will stay with me tonight, right Hani?"

"Of course baby" Hani replied back.

"Okay, take care of her" I told Hani and said bye to Byul. I didn't want to leave Byul but she needs rest so we decided to leave.

*Moonbyul POV*

"Looks like someone wanted to stay with you" Hani said with a cocky smile and looked at me. 

"You're wrong. Unnie was just worried about me. She doesn't like me that way" I said because I know unnie cares for me and nothing else. 

"I never said anything about liking" she smirked. 

"Okay, okay, I cannot win against you. Let's get some rest now. I am sleepy." I said and Hani got herself comfortable on the other bed beside me.

*Solar POV*

Byul should be here any minute. She got discharge from the hospital and Hani is bringing her back. We prepared a small welcome back party for her, just us four and Hani. 

Not soon after Hani and Byul walked in. She was supporting Byul by putting her arm around her shoulder. We went towards her and I helped her to settle down in her bed.

Byul drifted to sleep because of medicines and it was just me and Hani. We just sat there in silence for few minutes.

"Please take care of Byul for me, she's the only friend I have" Hani said.

"Oh I will, please don't worry about her, she's with me now" I said with a rude tone. I don't know why.

She just chuckled. What so funny? Did I crack a joke or something? I don't know why she is annoying.
But she didn't even do anything.

"I know, you are very special to her" Hani said while looking at sleeping Byul.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Nothing, it's just you mean so much to Byul. You are always on her mind" Hani said.

"Really?" I said under my breath but she heard it.

"Trust me I know everything about you because even if she is with me, she keeps talking about you. Seriously, your favourite color, your favourite food, I know everything because that girl just won't shut up when she talks about you"

I just blushed, I think Hani isn't as bad I thought. It opened a gate of conversation.

We talked a lot, mostly about Byul. I got to know many things about her that I didn't know. She is such a wonderful person behind that mischievous face.

After having dinner, Hani left.

I looked at sleeping Byul and she looked so beautiful. I went over to her bed to take a look at her.

Her eyes closed, her hair perfectly falling on her face, her cheeks, her lips slightly parted. Her lips looked so kissable. I leaned in and kissed her cheek. She slightly moved but was still sleeping.

I leaned in again but kissed her lips instead.
