Hansen barked a warning just in time. Grey dust filled the air in front of them as the bag exploded. He coughed, covering his face and kicking the bag out of Charles' hand. Together with his companions, he dragged him out of the shed, where the trio collapsed. Charles let out a coarse laugh, coughing in between. »Didn't plan on using that point blank,« he rasped, rolling over to the side.
Hansen pulled him up, throwing a look over his shoulder. »You two alright?«
»Yeah,« Unus responded, raising his arm to rub his burning eye. The headhunter grabbed his arm just before his fingers touched his face. »I'd not do that if I were you. You got Raven dust on yer hands, and you don't want to rub it in ya face.«
He let his hand sink. »Raven dust?«
»A mixture that permanently damages the senses,« the captured bard chimed in. »Nasty stuff. Too bad Hansen noticed it in time.«Annus gulped and let his hands sink into his pocket. His nose began to itch.
Hansen pushed Charles forward. »Most of it is on our hands. Don't touch your faces and you'll be fine.«
The way back to Arrabal felt as if it took twice as long. Multiple times, Annus subconsciously took his hands out of his pockets, and more than once, he stopped them just in time. It was as if they had a life on their own, and his face had never been so itchy before. They went straight to the water pump, washing off their faces and hands. Of course, the itches vanished as soon as his hands were clean.
They agreed to meet Hansen tomorrow so he could set them up with the person that might be able to help them, and parted ways.
