WARNING: (SLIGHT) GORE, BODY HORROR

The creatures needle-like foreleg sliced the air where his head had been seconds ago. Annus rolled to the side as the second beast lunged forward. He kept low, and kicked after Monster Marks legs. He missed, and the creature stabbed at his calf. A sharp pain shot up his lower body. It had missed, but tore his skin open nevertheless.

He robbed backwards in bridge position, finding himself  underneath the second monster. Monster Ethan kicked him right into the solar plexus, sending him flying across the arena.

He hit the ground with a heavy thud. The impact pushed the air out of his lungs. His vision was getting dizzy. He blinked to combat the pounding in his head, and tried to get up.
Pull yourself together, he scolded himself. These monsters were stronger than him and armed, but everyone had a weak point. He just needed to find it.

The two quadruped monsters approached him from both sides, hissing.
Somehow, their pointy legs reminded him of deer. The legs. Of course. They were dangerous, but at the same time, they were his best chance.

As the monster with Marks face raised it's leg to strike, he lunged forward, grabbing the other front leg. Caught off guard by the surprise attack, the beast lost balance and fell.

Annus jumped to the side to evade the falling body, but the other monster was already on to him. Hit unhinged it's jaw, spitting out a hot ball of mucus. It hit him right between the shoulder blades, causing a burning sensation. It felt like somebody was pulling the skin from his back.

The monster wearing Ethans face sliced at him, but he managed to grab and pull up the other monsters head like a shield.

The blade made a disgusting wet sound when it stabbed trough the other monsters brain. It came to a halt a mere breath away from Annus' face. If he were to blink, his eyelashes would probably touch the tip of it.

The second beast let out an angry scream, and began furiously trampling at him. He let go of the dead creatures head and ducked away, trying to get some distance between him and the living monster.

He only caught a glimpse of a red limb shooting at him before he felt intense pain in his left leg. Everything seemed to be in slow motion. He saw his calf, cleanly impaled by the monster. If the white suit hadn't been turning red, it would have looked like the fabric didn't get torn at all.

He didn't feel pain, only surprise. That isn't good, he thought, wondering how he could stay this calm.

With a loud screech, the creature dragged him across the sand, his back burning like fire. Due to the force of the motion, the claw dislodged itself, and he was sent flying over the ground.

He hit the carcass of the first monster, barely avoiding the sharp limbs. The other beast leaned down over him, Ethans unhinged jaw dangling beneath a mouth full of sharp teeth. He could smell the foulness as the beast opened it's mouth to devour him.

Blindly, he tried to reach for something, anything that could get him out of here. His fingers reached a leg of the dead monster, and without hesitation he rammed it into the head of the other one.

A hint of surprise flickered in it's small evil eyes. It was the look of an apex predator that, until one fatal moment, had never been defied. It tried to raise it's head, but it's legs collapsed under it's weight and it fell over.

Annus didn't let go of the dead monsters limb. He clinged onto it, as he slowly breathed in and out. The man in the formerly white suit sat in between the carcasses of two abominations, dirty and bloody. Most of the blood wasn't his own, aside from the deep dark stain on his lower leg.

He could feel his hands shaking, and took another deep breath. He needed to stay focused. The adrenaline was still blocking out the pain, but it would not last for long.

He took of his jacket, wrapping it tightly around his leg. He couldn't put much weight on it, but it would work for now.

A looked up when he heard a scratching noise in front of him. A hatch rose up from beneath the sand, revealing the path Dark had set out for him.

He sighed. To hell with Dark and his antics. He looked around for another exit, but there wasn't even a single scratch in the colloseum walls. The door he had walked in from had vanished as well.

Annus limped over to the hatch, pulling it open with a grunt. It revealed a latter, and something that looked like a sewer.

Muttering a curse, he began his descent.
