Dark watched in amusement while Annus looked trough the cabinet. He wasn't surprised about how easily that the other ego handled the arena. Annus was competent, he had to give him that. Which was exactly what made him both annoying and interesting. As much as Dark hated having someone who could go toe to toe with him, he enjoyed having an equal opponent.

Behind his back, Unus screamed. He threw himself against his shackles, shaking the medical chair. Dark rolled his eyes. He turned to Blank, who was lounging in a tipped back chair, his feet resting on a table. »Can you make him shut up?«

»Sorry Mr. Dark-and-Brooding, people make noise when there tortured.« It took Dark a lot of self control to not wipe that shit-eating grin off Blanks face.

The annoying little prick pointed at the image of Annus that was projected on the walls of the white room. »Um, what is he doing?« Dark turned his attention back to the other ego. Annus  had crouched down behind the counter, his flashlight turned off. In his hands he helt what seemed to be a makeup palette.

Dark shook his head and leaned in. Confused, he watched while his counterpart opened up the palette and began putting on eyeliner. »Are you sure you are the dark part of Marks conscience?« Blank laughed. »Because what I'm seeing there is incredibly cursed.«

He was right. Annus had either snapped or worked out some kind of plan, and he didn't like either option.

Annus knew that the creature he was facing was attracted to light. That mean she could see, at least a little. And if Dark was the one in control of this gauntlet he was being forced to complete, he had control over her. Probably. Maybe. The possibility was high enough that he was willing to give it a try. Dark was the kind of person who liked to control everything, after all.

Putting on makeup in complete darkness was significantly harder than he had anticipated. What added to this was that his leg began to pulse, and he felt feverish.

He wiped sweat off his forehead. Looking like Dark couldn't be that hard. All he had to do was look as pale as a corpse, and he was on the right path, even without makeup.

He closed his eyes and pressed his hands across his leg. The creature was still standing still in the tunnel he came from.

Something felt off. He couldn't say if it was just his spinning head, but it didn't feel good. As if the things he did were out of place. Then again, by now he had disassociated to the point of watching himself from an outside view.

It took all his willpower to keep his hands calm. After what seemed like hours, he was done. Or at least he hoped he was. There wasn't any mirror anywhere, which was probably for the better. Now it was time to confront that... whatever she was.

After he was sure that everything was ready, Annus stood up.
