“Bye Damian, I wuv you!” I teased in my baby voice, as I was about to get off the phone with him after an hour.
“Say goodbye to me like a normal person? Please?” He groaned.
“Oh fine, goodbye dick.” I laughed and hung up the phone while I finished cleaning my room off. The doorbell rang and I sluggishly traveled downstairs to see who was here. When I did, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
“Uh hi Lacey,” said Ivy, awkwardly standing on my porch and fidgeting with her fingers.
“Hi Ivy, what are you doing here?” I laid aside my hatred for this girl and politely invited her inside.
“Well, I have a date tonight…” She trailed off uncomfortably.
“With?”
“Zayn,” She replied, timidly. Who was this girl and what did she do with the bratty, obnoxious Ivy?
“Oh,” I spoke softly. Of ‘course, Zayn mentioned that he was going to go out with Ivy, I just didn’t know he was actually going to go through with it. Did you not know or did you not want him to? Both, actually. I don’t want to see him hurt, and Ivy most definitely could be defined as the heartbreaker. “But what are you doing here?”
“Well, I figured that since you seem to know him so well you could give me a hint of where we are going.” She took a seat on the couch.
“I am sorry, but I don’t know.” I responded. Zayn would spare me the details of his date, which I was perfectly okay with him doing. I don’t know why, but this situation with Zayn and Ivy made me feel something. I don’t know what it was, but it wasn’t pleasant. Snap out of it, Ivy is asking for help and Zayn would appreciate helping her, especially since he advised you on what to do with Harry. He saved you from a lot of uncertainty and heartbreak.
“So you’re still dating that Harry guy, right? No feelings for Zayn from you?” Ivy worked those questions into our conversation. Apparently, Ivy wasn’t just asking for help; she was also asking for permission.
“Uh, yeah I’m still with Harry.” I dodged her second question because I didn’t trust her right now. It wasn’t like Ivy to ask for permission, for anything, ever.
“Okay, well that’s good.”
After getting past the sufficiently awkward part, I started to help Ivy get ready for her date which was in an hour. I guess I was her only girlfriend, which was understandable because she was a bitch to most girls, scaring them away. I wasn’t even her friend though, but she remained sweet to me the entire time and I took advantage of that to see the good in her. She was finally ready and looked stunning.
“You look really amazing,” I complimented her and she smirked.
“Zayn just texted me, asking for an address. What a gentleman,” Ivy swooned and I bit my lip. This was weird for me, but it shouldn’t be.
“Um, you can just tell him to come here; it will be easier for you two.” I regretfully offered.
“That’s nice of you. Thanks,” she smiled and headed out of my bedroom, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Not wanting to leave her alone downstairs, I went into the kitchen.
“Can I get you anything to drink?” I asked.
“How about a vodka tonic? I am sufficiently nervous.” She laughed and I nervously joined in. Obviously Ivy was joking, but, like the baby I am, I was irritated with the alcohol reference.
“You don’t need it. Zayn is an easy going guy. He is sweet and will know the perfect thing to say for the moment. You will definitely have fun with him, his personality is unique.” I drifted off as my thoughts stayed on Zayn.
