*LACEY'S POV*
Harry's mother had been sweet, unlike how she acted in the very beginning. He and I were able to make it through the trip with minimal fights, which was unusual. Though, that was probably due to the fact that we skipped our romantic dinner to eat with Anne, my idea. One that was to Harry's clear dismay
"Here we are," He pulled into my driveway, parking. Tiredly, I slipped out of the truck with my duffel bag.
"I didn't want it to end." I groaned as he held my hand, walking me back to my front door.
"I know babe, I had a great time with you.
"Don't you always?" I smirked, and he kissed my cheek lovingly. Lillian opened the front door and welcomed me inside. Quickly, I pulled Harry in for a peck on the lips, before pushing him back onto the porch, while I stayed inside.
"See you again." I smiled at him, and he nodded, walking back to the pickup truck. Lillian closed the front door and saw me swooning, thinking about the day I just had.
"Leave them wanting more, always." She laughed, giving me a high-five. "How was it?"
"It was great, and I met his mother." I gleamed as I set my duffel bag on the steps, following her into the kitchen.
"It's about time he introduced you to someone special."
"I don't think he considers Anne special to him. Plus, we met accidentally." I said thoughtfully.
"Well, great." Lillian spoke sarcastically
"You sound like Ava."
"Ava is a smart girl." Lillian countered, and I nodded. "By the way, Zayn came over today looking for you. And when I told him you went out with Harry for the day and to come back tomorrow, he looked hurt."
"Yeah, I refrain from talking him about Harry and I. It's complicated," I explained, sighing. Of course the one day that I'm not home is the day he chooses to hang out with me. I know he's been trying to keep his distance, and I thought it was because he just didn't want to be friends with me anymore.
"Why? I thought you and Zayn were just friends." She pressed on for the explanation that I didn't have.
"It's complicated, aunt Lil." I chuckled, rolling my eyes. She laughed and told me I should get some sleep to which I agreed.
I was so tired and felt dazed. Lillian walked to her bedroom on the downstairs as I slowly made my way upstairs with my duffel bag on my shoulder and my phone in my hand. I had no texts or calls from Zayn, which was unusual. If he wanted something, he would have done one of those things before coming over. I was so confused, but too tired to care. Opening my bedroom, I threw my duffel bag on my bed without paying any attention to where I threw it
"Lacey." I heard a hushed voice say my name, and I whipped my head around from my vanity to see if anyone was actually there. Maybe I had already fallen asleep and this was a dream. But it wasn't. Zayn was sitting on my bed and was holding my duffel bag, which I must've thrown at him.
Before I could say, move, or do anything, Zayn threw the bag on the floor and rushed over right in front of me, in one swift movement. We were chest-to-chest and he held his pointer finger up against my slightly parted lips, hushing me from speaking a word.
"I haven't seen you in a while. Your aunt told me I should come tomorrow, but she doesn't know of our nighttime hangouts." He whispered, and even then I could hear his accent through every word. I didn't move and continued to stare up at his dark figure, as the moon outside my windows illuminated his figure.
