Starting Over

Chapter 2

North was in the kitchen looking through the fridge to see what to make for dinner when his phone rang with a number he didn't recognize. "Someone answer that?" he asked while moving things around. "Ice cream?" he grumbled as he watched Luke try to sneak some away.

"North Star, I'm so sorry," an angelic voice asked, and everyone froze in place. A voice all nine of them hadnt heard in five years.

"Marie Baby?" North asked in shock.

"I'm so sorry, North Star. I tried to stop him I tried but I couldn't and now I'm so tired."

"Sorry for what, Baby? Tried to stop who? What's going on, Baby?" North asked worried. He didn't like the way her voice was shaking and how she was talking. He was trying so hard to remain calm. Silas put a hand on his shoulder to try and keep him grounded. He noticed Victor had grabbed his laptop and North's phone and was typing away. He knew he had to keep her talking no matter what.

"I'm sorry My North Star I broke my promise to you," she sobbed. "I just wanted the pain to stop."

"It's okay, Marie Baby, just tell me where you are and whats going on?" North asked frantically. "What happened, Baby? Just talk to me please, Baby." He didnt care that everyone could see the tears forming and he knew that if he looked around they would too.

"I couldnt love just you North Star, Im sorry but I love all of you and I couldnt break apart your family, so I had to leave." Marie gasped softly and let out a shaky breath, "He told me I belonged to him, but I told him no because my heart still belongs to you nine. He hit me and I tried to get away. I promise I tried North Star."

Anger grew in all of them and he clenched his fist but he knew he had to remain calm for her, they would seek revenge later. "I believe you Baby, just tell me where you are, and Ill come get you Marie Baby."

Marie let out a soft giggle, "Silly Bear, youre way too far away."

"Let me decide that Baby, just tell me," North pleaded while looking at Victor, who was typing even faster he thought.

"I'm so tired now North Star I need a rest. Its starting to get dark," she shakingly whispered.

"No, no, no, Baby talk to me. I havent heard from you in five years. I need to hear your beautiful voice Baby," North said softly while looking at Sean who had his bag ready. He held up car keys and everyone was heading to the van that was big enough for all of them to travel together.

"I told you I had to leave because I couldnt love just one of you and I wont break up your family. I left and tried to start over, but I wasnt happy. Im not happy, you and everyone would be so disappointed in me North Star Im so sorry." He thought he saw a few of them wipe tears away but he couldnt be for sure since he was trying to keep his from spilling.

"You silly girl, didnt you know we all wanted you, Baby?" he asked praying she could hear the truth in his voice. He just wanted her in his arms and okay. He didnt like how soft her voice was getting and how tired she sounded but he knew he had to keep her awake.

"What?" Marie gasped softly.

"You silly girl, weve always wanted just one girl for all of us and that is you, Baby. Its always been you and will still be you Baby. Now tell me where you are so I can come get you and bring you home to us." Victor typed something into the GPS while Owen stepped on the gas pedal.

"I'm sorry North Star, I broke my promise to you and now is too late. Im sorry my North Star please tell everyone Im sorry I broke their hearts, and I will always love them."

"No, Baby, dont go to sleep. Keep talking to me, Baby. Dont shut those pretty brown eyes, Baby. Baby? Baby? Answer me, Baby" North panicked.

"I'm so sorry all of you. I love you all so much My Owen, Dr. Sean, Prince, Meanie, 52, Honey, Superman, Always, and North Star," Marie whispered as the phone went silent.

"Marie Baby?" North asked softly. "Baby?" he began to shout as Owen pulled into a parking lot.
