Starting Over

Chapter 22

"So, you have finally woken up my beloved," A deep voice said, and Marie and Axel looked up to see a man dressed in all black standing in a doorway. He stood too far away for them to see his face.

"Im not your beloved," Marie said through clenched teeth. She scooted closer to Axel, she pressed up against him and he felt her shift her hand down to her shoes. She was sitting on her knees, so her feet were up against her bottom. "I dont even know who you are."

He barely moved his hand and encompassed hers while keeping his thighs against her to keep their movements hidden. He felt her press something on the heel of her boot and something barely popped open on the bottom of her boot. He could thank the stars for her gothic boots right now. He felt her lay her head on his shoulder, giving him the coverage to reach down and pop the opening to retrieve her spare phone. He closed it and snuck the phone behind him. He felt her grab his hand and then her index finger pressed into his hand harder than the other fingers, so he briefly squeezed getting the message. He got a better grip on the phone and went to speed dial and hit the first one.

"Oh, but you do know me, and I know so much about you."

Axel turned on the phone and Marie growled at the man, "I dont know you." She could hear North asking hello and prayed the man didnt hear North. "I dont know who you are so why dont you just tell me and tell me why you are doing this to me?"

"Because you have forgotten that you belong to me My Beloved," the man growls. "You need to remember who you belong to."

"I know who I belong to and it isnt you," she growled back. "I dont even know who you are!"

"Quit lying Marie!" the man yells.

"Im not lying you fucking asshole!" She yells back. "I dont know who you are!"

"Yes, you do!" the man yells back. "You have seen me everyday for the past five years until you decided to go back to the men who broke your heart! Why go back to them when I have made you smile every single day? Why go back to them when you have me?"

"Are you fucking insane?" She yells trying to stand. "I dont even know who you are!"

"You do know me!" The man takes a step further.

"Prove it!" She yells back. "Show me your face!"

"Oh, Ill show you!" he growls as he stomps over to her. The man grabbed Marie by the throat and tried to pull her away.

"Let her go!" Axel shouted as he lunged at the man. The man turned and aimed a gun at Axels head.

"No dont shoot him" Marie yelled. "Ill go with you just dont shoot him."

"Thats my girl," the man chuckled.

"Im not your girl," Marie said through clenched teeth.

"You are, I just need to remind you how good I feel to you for you to remember," the man chuckled as he walked backward dragging Marie with him. She took one look at Axel, noticed the man lowered the gun and elbowed him in his side. Axel lunged forward again, and Marie grabbed for the gun. There was a scuffle between all three of them and then the gun went off.

(Back at the hidden house)

"Its been twelve fucking hours!" North shouted while pacing the living room.

"We fucking know," Gabriel muttered running his fingers through his disheveled hair.

"How are we going to find them?" Luke asked scared out of his mind.

Just then Norths phone went off. "I dont know this number," he muttered while Victor grabbed it and hooked it up to his laptop. "Hello?" There was silence, "Hello?" he asked again.

"I dont know who you are so why dont you just tell me and tell me why you are doing this to me?" Everyone went silent at Maries voice. Victor began typing even faster and Corey opened his own laptop to help Victor trace the call.

The groups listened as Marie and the man began a shouting match. They had to refrain from shouting when she offered to go with the man to protect Axel.

"You are, I just need to remind you how good I feel to you for you to remember," the man said as North punched the wall. He swung again but Silas and Nathan pulled him back. They heard the fighting going off then the gun shot.

"Marie?" North asked dropping to his knees.

"Axel?" Raven asked and the phone call disconnected.

"Marie Baby?" North asked again.

"I got it!" Victor shouted and they took off to their vans.

"This cant be happening again," Luke panicked as they took off down the road with the Toma team following behind them.
