Chapter 27: tears huh?

Tears ran down my face now. I was so hurt but angered at the same time of what he said. I was just trying to do something good for once but I guess his independent ass just wants to push me including everybody out of his business. "Fine kurapika if that's how you feel, THATS okay, but since you have the heart to hate me with anger when I just wanted to do something a little good for you, then forget it I guess you really DONT need me, so fuck you and your lonesome ass". I quickly got up but saw his eyes turn back to their natural color as his head hung low. I turned as the tears had now came out and made their way down my cheeks

I made my way out of the park, now walking around the place wiping my eyes as I sobbed. It really hurt hearing him say these words. Are they the truth or does he speak lies? Whatever it is, all I know now is that it hurts strongly and deeply. I found a shop that had a bench in front of it. I walked over to it slowly and sat down. I leaned over putting my face in my hands. The tears never stopped, neither did the pain. His words repeated again, her words repeated as well. They made a loop in my head like a song stuck on replay, and that's what I hated most.

Was I really needed by anybody? Did Gon and killua ever really need me? The rest of them?

Was she really right about me?

Maybe just...maybe I wasn't really needed. I looked up seeing two little kids walking. One was a girl that looked around 7 and the other was another girl who looked around 12 years old. They were holding hands and looked happy. I then heard barking coming closer to them. I looked and saw a pit bull dog running towards the girl. It didn't take them long to notice it was coming at them. The bigger girl stepped in front of the little girl, shielding her from the attack that was about to come. I could see that both of them were terrified. But the bigger one still stood her ground.

It did surprise me at her bravery but the dog looked like it could rip both of them to shreds. "Big sister I'm scared". "It's okay, I'll protect you no matter what". The dog sped up some more. The girl still stood her ground, not moving once. It scared me, cause I knew where this was gonna go. The dog was getting closer. It wasn't long until somebody got hurt. I looked in fear at them and back at the dog.

I quickly got up running over to the girls. I stood Infront of them. "Keep behind me unless you wanna be ripped to shreds, and I know we both don't want that". I looked at the girl seeing her nod her head in agreement. I turned back seeing the dog come to a stop. He wasn't done yet. He was now growling at us, showing all his teeth. Sharp and ready to bite. I slowly dug into my purse looking for something. In return the dog barked at us. "Oh shut up". I said digging in my purse finding something that would help. As I searched I finally felt a soft round material in there. I took the item out seeing it was the same ball killua hit me with.

"How did this get here? Oh well let's just see if it works". I held the ball in my hand. I started swaying it side to side. The dog was still in defense mode but his attention was now on the ball. His eyes slowly followed the ball. "Do you want it?" I said I was still moving the ball. I took a step towards the dog. Which didn't do anything since their eyes were still on the ball. I took some more steps until I was closer to the dog. I slowly crouched down in front of them and held the ball close to them. The dog slowly walked over to the ball and sniffed it.

"Do you want the ball big fella?" The dog opened its mouth, grabbing the ball now. I then reached over very carefully and slowly pet the dog's head. The dog looked up at me and then at the ball, now chewing on it while sitting down. I placed my hand on the dog's head and rubbed it slowly. The dog stayed in its same spot not moving. I begin to pet the dog even more. "Yea who's the big one now" I heard the dog growl a little. "Alright Alright you Are". I got up and walked over to the girls. "Are you two Alright?" I asked with concern. "oh my gosh thank you for saving us". The big girl said.

I crouched down and smiled at them. They both came in and hugged me. I was shocked but hugged back. After they let go. They looked at me and then looked confused. "Why were you crying miss? Your eyes are red". The little girl said, pointing it out. "Oh one of my friends said something that hurt me a bit, hehe". I tried laughing it off but it still hurt, I just had to put a smile on and make sure no tears came out. "If you don't mind, can you tell us what they said?". The older girl said. I scratched the back of my neck and chuckled dryly.

"Well he said".
'YOU'RE ALWAYS TRYING TO HELP BUT NEVER REALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING! YOU ALWAYS SCREW IT ALL UP'

"That i...screw up things, and don't know what I'm doing, and...."
'YOU THINK EVERYBODY NEEDS YOUR HELP WHEN THEY.DON'T'

"Said That nobody needs my help, and that he doesn't..."
'I REALLY DON'T NEED YOU AND NEVER DID!'

"Need me..and Never did need me". I felt the pain come again, putting itself right back in my heart. "Your friend is a dummy and big mean to say that, he shouldn't say things like that to friends". The little girl said. "I agree," the older one said. "Yea your right
Friends shouldn't say things like that, but I could see it in his eyes, the hatred and anger that looked at me, and o-" I felt the tears start again. I quickly got up and wiped them. "I'm sorry I have to go now". I pulled my phone out and dialed Ricky's number.

Ricky:This is Ricky, how can a chump help ya?
Me.Ricky Can I get a ride right now?
Ricky: oh shoot kid text me your location and I'll come get ya
Me: thank you

I hung up and texted him the location. As I waited I sat back down at the bench, still the same feeling as from before, almost worse
