TBC Chapter 25: In The Brink of Death There's A Light

My eyes flung open. Hindi ko narealize na nakatulog pala ako. Ipinatong ko yung braso ko sa noo ko at huminga ng malalim. Napanaginipan ko na naman yun. Parang totoo. Parang andun na naman ako at wala akong magawa para tulungan siya. I was reaching for him but I can't understand why he's so far away. He's walking to the light and I'm not doing anything about it--I can't do a thing! I was there but I can't move my feet. I was calling for his name but no voice came out.

I shove my face deep in my palms and it felt wet.

"Have you been crying?" nagulat ako at agad na napatingin sa pinanggagalingan ng boses. He's laying beside me. He's head is resting on his knuckles, elbows propped up the cushion bed. Yes, I've been crying and now I've even burst out to another fresh set of tears. I covered my mouth trying to hide the pain, shock, happiness, all mixed emotions. I tried all my might to call his name.

"Philip?" my voice broke.

"Yes, baby?" ngumiti siya.

"Are you really---" I was lost for words. Unti unti kong inilapit yung kamay ko sa kanya upang maramdaman kung totoo nga siya at mapatunayang hindi na naman ito isang panaginip gaya ng iba.

He met my hand half way and intertwined our fingers. Naramdaman ko ang init ng balat niya sa kamay ko. Naramdaman ko ang bawat daliri niya, bawat detalye, lahat lahat.

"I'm real."  hinila niya ako at ikinulong sa kanyang malalakas na bisig. I was definitely sobbing. I can't help myself. It's been too long but it still feels the same. It felt right.

I felt him rub my back assuring me his there. Here beside me, hugging me.

"Shh.. I'm already here. Don't cry baby.." I succumbed to his warm hard pounding chest. Nararamdaman ko ang bawat hininga niya sa buhok ko. Hindi magtigil ang mga luha ko. Matagal kong pinigilan ang mga to at ngayon patuloy pa rin sila sa pagdaloy. "Hey baby." He whispered.

Napatingala ako sa kanya. He's fresh baby blue eyes are piercing deep into mine. His grown to a ragged kind of man but still good looking as I can remember. His blond stricken hair has come longer, mussed and sexy.

Gusto kong mas guluhin yun at isabunot ang mga kamay ko dito.

We stared at each other for a long time until I felt his lips hot on my forehead. I felt him touch my cheek.

I closed my eyes when he kissed them one by one, each with equal tenderness. Then I opened them when I felt his lips on the tip of my nose. I stared at him. Little freckles around his nose that can only be seen this close. Ugh, how I loved tracing them when we're alone. He pulled me even closer if that's even possible and our bodies are flat against each other.

I held my breath.

Till he tipped my chin to meet him. Our lips has been reunited again. It's sweet and daring at the same precious time. My eyes were closed, savoring him, this sweet recollection of our hunger for each other, finally being filled again.

We stayed like that God knows how long.

Humiga ako sa dibdib niya at pinakinggan yung bawat tibok ng puso niya. The same thing I do before. Him running his hand through my hair makes me sleepy pero hindi dapat ako makatulog. Paano pag paggising ko wala na siya? Paano pag panaginip na naman pala to? Paano kung iwanan niya na naman ako?

"I won't leave you baby. Ever." napangiti ako. It's like he knows what I'm thinking. "I love you."

I looked up to him.
