TBC Chapter 42: A Breath To Take

That guy is really intriguing. His presence is very unusual.

He's not something to take that easily.

Ano na kayang ginagawa nilang tatlo? Kumusta na kaya si Leigh? Hindi maganda ang kutob ko sa lalaking iyon. And I think he is  bad news to Leigh.

"Thinking of a another guy?" I was caught out of my reverie when I heard a voice.

"What are you talking about?" I knotted my brows and threw daggers at his direction.

"Hyeah, I know when you're thinking 'bout another guy. You can't lie to me."

"Uhh, yes I can. And I am not thinking about another guy."

He suddenly closed his book while he was leaning back on his elbow just seating in front of me.

He licked his pinkish lips and then shrugged.

"Well then, I think this tutoring is done." Agad na nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa narinig kong sinabi nito.

"What? We haven't even finished Chapter 47! How can I pass my exams tomorrow?"

"Well it's for you to find out." He grinned and collected his books before standing.

Napahinga ako ng malalim.

"Wait. I am... thinking of a guy."

Napabalik siya ng tingin sa akin.

"He's a newbie at our school. And I don't know but I don't feel good around him. He's dangerous."

"Maybe you just like him, sis." Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang ilapit niya ang mukha sa akin habang nakangiti pa ng sobrang lapad.

"Umalis ka nga dyan! Naalibarbaran ako sa mukha mo e!" I blurted and that's when he laughed. Laughed so loud that he caught every attention in Silver High's school library.

Yes I am in Silver High. And this ass face in front of me is my elder brother. I take time to visit him here in his school just to beg him to tutor me. Tss. Kung bat kasi pinanganak siyang mas matalino sa akin.

I strive to break every single record he had but apparently, I can't handle living like him. He's living a life of a genius.

"You're so cute, sis." He annoyingly said while pinching both of my cheeks.

"Back off Dhustin." I spat as I try to slap his arms away.

"Hahaha!" He laughed. Ever wonder why he's not scolded till now? It's because the librarian has a crush on him.

I guess that's the perks of having a good face and a genius mind, like me. Only he got it better. Tsk.

"Don't look at me like that sis. I might think that you have a crush on me."

"Mandiri ka nga." I rolled my eyes at him and he just laughed even louder.

Laki ng sira sa utak nitong kuya ko.

"Anyways, are you gonna be home tonight?" I suddenly asked.
It's because he doesn't usually come home. He got his own condo near his school and he only goes home when he feels like it.

He gave off a cat like smile. "I'll think.. " I sneaked a glance at him. Okay slightly wishing that he'd finally come around and fall into my spell. Or even have mercy on me coz I've got my exams tomorrow and I could really use his help.

"I think I'll pass." He smirked and collected his book from the table before standing.

He left me in there merely gawking at how did he do this to me. His own flesh and blood. His little sister.

Just when I was about to lose hope, my face suddenly lit up when he turned his head back to face me hoping he'd change his mind but boy was I so wrong.

"By the way. Say hi to Leigh for me." He said before he waved his hand and finally walked away.

"Kahit naman sabihin ko hindi ka nun matatandaan. Pfft."

Jen's POV

To say I was in awe was just a mere understatement to what I'm feeling right now.

Did he just do what I think he did?

"Omighad! Jen!" Napakapit na lang sa akin bigla si Steffi namg dahil sa nakita.

"What's this? Are we in some kinda fairy tale book, or I'm just imagining things?"

"He's weird." Dagdag ko pa sa mga sinabi ko.

"Romantic weird." Pangongorek ni Steffi.

Lahat na ata ng tao dito sa loob ng cafeteria ay nakanganga sa natunghayan naming palabas.

Wala na kami sa Renaissance period para makakita ng actual scene kagaya lamang nito.

And based from Leigh's face, she's as shocked as we are.

I actually understood what he just said to Jessica.

He'd actually kill her.

I can sense it from the aura emanating from him a while ago.

And he's dead serious.

I was suddenly caught out of my train of thoughts when he stood up and offered to buy us food and walked away.

Kami naman ni Steffi ay dali daling nilapitan si Leigh para i-check kung kumusta siya.

And what shocked me the most was....

"Leigh! You're blushing!" Steffi exclaimed not caring about the eyes still afixed our direction.

"Ugh, huh?" Mukha namang biglang natauhan si Leigh at napahilamos sa mukha gamit ang dalawa nitong kamay.

"Anong nangyari? Nasaktan ka ba?" Tanong ko rito at chineck yung itusra niya.

"No. I wasn't hurt in any sense. Nagulat lang ako." She tried to smile. And seeing her like that is very unusual.

Kasi naman sa hinaba ng pinagsamahan namin ay sanay na ako na makitang wala siyang pakialam sa mga nangyayari sa kanya. She just smiles at the grimace that she sees on everybody's face whenever she punishes them.

"Don't fall for him Leigh, remember, nauna na si Rhaven sa buhay mo." Steffi blurted out of nowhere and seeing Leigh's face turn red is hilarious.
